Role Description The Senior Python Engineer, Desktop role is a full-time, on-site position based in Delhi, India. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining desktop applications in Python that interact with IoT devices and smart home systems. Day-to-day tasks include implementing new features, optimizing application performance, integrating with back-end services and databases, and ensuring robust, secure communication with Zigbee-based devices.

The engineer will collaborate with product managers, hardware engineers, and QA teams to translate requirements into reliable software solutions, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Additional responsibilities include writing automated tests, documenting technical designs,



and contributing to overall architecture decisions for the smart home platform.

Qualifications

- Solid skills in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with advanced proficiency in Python for desktop application development.
- Experience in Software Development, including designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining production-grade applications.
- Background in Back-End Web Development, with familiarity in building APIs and services that integrate with desktop clients.
- Solid understanding of Databases, including schema design, querying, and performance optimization for application data storage.
- Experience with IoT systems, device communication protocols (preferably Zigbee), and integration between desktop software and hardware.
- Knowledge of cross-platform desktop frameworks (e.g., PyQt, Tkinter, or similar) and version control tools such as Git.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code, perform code reviews, and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in an on-site, cross-functional team environment.
