About the Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with good technical knowledge and a practical understanding of mechanical engineering activities. The candidate will be responsible for CAD drafting, preparation and modification of mechanical drawings, site visits, measurements, project coordination, technical documentation, and providing engineering support for ongoing projects.

The role will involve a combination of office-based design/CAD work and field/site work. The candidate should therefore be comfortable visiting project sites, company locations, client locations, or vendor facilities whenever required.

Freshers with good knowledge of AutoCAD/CAD software, mechanical engineering fundamentals, and a willingness to work at project sites may also apply.

Key Responsibilities1. CAD & Mechanical Drawing Work

- Prepare, modify, and update 2D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD/CAD software.
- Prepare mechanical layouts, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed drawings as per project requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, layouts, and technical documents.
- Make drawing revisions and modifications based on engineering requirements and site conditions.
- Assist in preparing component drawings, equipment layouts, fabrication details, and assembly drawings.
- Maintain proper records of drawings and ensure that the latest revisions are being used.
- Coordinate with senior engineers and the design team for drawing-related requirements.
- Ensure drawings are accurate and prepared according to required technical specifications.
- Assist in preparing drawings based on measurements and information collected from project sites.

1. Site Visits & Field Work

- Visit project sites, client locations, company premises, and vendor locations as required.
- Take measurements and collect technical information from the site.
- Verify actual site conditions against approved drawings and project requirements.
- Assist in installation, inspection, fabrication, and maintenance-related activities wherever required.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, fabricators, contractors, vendors, and other technical personnel.
- Monitor mechanical work and provide regular updates to the reporting manager.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Assist in resolving technical and site-related issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Ensure that mechanical work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.

1. Project Coordination

- Coordinate between the design/engineering team and site team.
- Assist in planning and execution of mechanical engineering activities.
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, installation, procurement, and project teams as required.
- Follow up with vendors, contractors, and suppliers regarding project requirements.
- Assist in ensuring timely completion of assigned project activities.
- Attend site/client/vendor meetings whenever required.




- Communicate project updates and technical issues to the reporting manager.

1. Fabrication & Installation Support

- Assist in fabrication and installation activities as per approved drawings.
- Understand fabrication requirements and coordinate with fabricators.
- Check dimensions and specifications during fabrication and installation.
- Assist in inspection of fabricated components and assemblies.
- Verify that materials and components are as per approved specifications.
- Coordinate with the fabrication/site team to resolve drawing or dimensional issues.
- Assist senior engineers during testing, commissioning, and installation activities.

1. Measurement & Technical Support

- Take accurate site measurements and maintain measurement records.
- Assist in preparing Bill of Materials (BOM), material requirements, and quantity calculations.
- Check dimensions and specifications against drawings.
- Assist in identifying the required materials, components, and equipment for projects.
- Support senior engineers in technical calculations and project-related activities.
- Prepare technical information and reports as required.

1. Quality & Safety

- Ensure mechanical work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Inspect work and report quality-related issues to the reporting manager.
- Assist in maintaining required quality standards during fabrication, installation, and project execution.
- Follow company and site safety procedures during field visits.
- Use appropriate PPE and follow safety instructions while working at project sites.
- Report unsafe conditions or potential technical/safety issues to the concerned authority.

1. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain mechanical drawings, project documents, measurements, and technical records.
- Maintain proper records of drawing revisions and approvals.
- Prepare daily/weekly site reports as required.
- Document site observations, measurements, and technical requirements.
- Assist in preparing project progress reports.
- Maintain organized CAD files and project documentation.
- Prepare and maintain relevant Excel reports and engineering records.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance will be evaluated based on:
- Accuracy and quality of CAD/mechanical drawings.
- Timely completion of assigned drawings and engineering tasks.
- Accuracy of site measurements and technical documentation.
- Effective coordination between office, site, fabrication, and project teams.
- Timely completion of assigned project activities.
- Adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
- Ability to identify and communicate technical/site-related issues.
- Proper maintenance of engineering documentation.
- Coordination and follow-up with vendors/contractors.
- Ability to support successful project execution.

Required Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD/CAD software.




- Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, fabrication, and installation processes.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and fabrication methods.
- Knowledge of BOM and material requirements.
- Basic knowledge of measurements and dimensional inspection.
- Knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or similar will be an advantage.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering candidates with relevant skills/experience may also be considered.

Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Design, Production, Fabrication, Site Engineering, Project Engineering, or related roles.
- Freshers with good AutoCAD knowledge and willingness to work at project sites are welcome to apply.
- Candidates having experience in CAD, fabrication, installation, production, or project/site work will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should:
- Have a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Have good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Be able to understand and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Be comfortable working on drawings as well as visiting project sites.
- Be willing to travel to company, client, vendor, and project locations whenever required.
- Have basic knowledge of fabrication, manufacturing, installation, and mechanical components.
- Be comfortable taking measurements and coordinating with site/fabrication teams.
- Have good communication and reporting skills.
- Be willing to work in a practical, project-oriented environment.
- Have a willingness to learn and take responsibility.

Nature of Work This position involves a combination of:

CAD/Drawing Work → Site Visits → Measurements → Technical Coordination → Fabrication Support → Installation Support → Documentation → Project Execution The candidate should be comfortable handling both desk-based engineering/design work and field/site responsibilities.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: ₹15-20k per month
