About the Role

Vastu Vihar Biotech Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Histopathologist to lead and support histopathological activities associated with our preclinical research and drug development programs. The candidate will be responsible for tissue processing, histological slide preparation, microscopic examination, interpretation of pathological changes, and preparation of comprehensive histopathology reports.

The role involves close collaboration with preclinical scientists, pharmacologists, veterinarians, molecular biologists, and research teams to evaluate tissue-level effects of investigational compounds, drugs, and therapeutic candidates. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in identifying treatment-related pathological changes and correlating histopathological findings with clinical, biochemical, and other study observations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee histopathology activities for preclinical and experimental research studies.
- Perform and supervise tissue fixation, grossing, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining, including H&E; and relevant special stains.
- Conduct microscopic examination and interpretation of tissue sections, identifying pathological, inflammatory, degenerative, proliferative, and treatment-related changes.
- Evaluate tissues from laboratory animal studies, particularly mice and rats, and assess the severity, distribution, and significance of observed lesions.
- Correlate histopathological findings with clinical observations, hematology, biochemistry, organ weights,



and other study parameters.
- Prepare, review, and validate accurate histopathology reports and study documentation, ensuring proper sample traceability and data integrity.
- Support the development and optimization of histopathology protocols, SOPs, quality-control practices, and laboratory workflows.
- Provide scientific guidance to junior histopathologists and research teams, contributing to study planning, pathological interpretation, research reports, and publications where applicable.

Required Qualifications

- M.V.Sc./Ph.D. in Veterinary Pathology or a closely related discipline may also be considered based on relevant experience.
- MD/DNB in Pathology preferred.
- Candidates with strong practical experience in histopathology and preclinical research will be preferred.

Required Experience

- 5+ years of relevant experience in histopathology, pathology, veterinary pathology, preclinical research, CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology research environments.
- Experience in preclinical toxicology, pharmacology, drug development, or laboratory animal studies will be an added advantage.
