Supergate is a premium architectural aluminium gate brand focused on designing and manufacturing high-end entrance gates for villas, luxury homes and architectural projects.

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer who can convert architectural concepts into accurate, production-ready aluminium gate designs.

Role Overview The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for the complete engineering and detailing of Supergate’s aluminium gate products — from concept development and 3D modelling through fabrication drawings, BOMs and production support.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with aluminium sheet metal, aluminium extrusions, SolidWorks and AutoCAD, along with a practical understanding of fabrication and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

- Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Create accurate 2D manufacturing/fabrication drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Design aluminium gates using sheet metal, extrusions, tubes, profiles and fabricated components.
- Convert design concepts into manufacturing-ready engineering designs.
- Develop new gate designs while maintaining Supergate’s premium architectural aesthetic.
- Design components considering fabrication, assembly, installation and service requirements.
- Prepare detailed BOMs and material take-offs.

Aluminium & Sheet Metal
- Robust understanding of aluminium sheet-metal design and fabrication.
- Experience with aluminium sheets, extrusions, tubes, profiles and fabricated assemblies.
- Understand bending, laser cutting, CNC operations, welding, machining and powder coating.
- Apply appropriate bend allowances, K-factors, tolerances, clearances and joining methods.
- Design for DFM/DFA – Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.




- Understand aluminium fabrication constraints and optimise designs for material utilisation.

Production Engineering
- Work closely with the production and fabrication teams.
- Resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Review prototypes and first-off components.
- Make engineering modifications based on production feedback.
- Ensure drawings released to production are accurate and complete.
- Support quality control and dimensional inspection.

Documentation
- Prepare:

- GA drawings

- Fabrication drawings

- Part drawings

- Assembly drawings

- BOMs

- Cutting lists
- DXF/laser-cut files
- CNC-related files where required

- Installation/detail drawings
- Maintain proper revision control for engineering drawings.

Required Skills

Essential

- Strong SolidWorks experience

- Strong AutoCAD experience
- Excellent knowledge of aluminium sheet metal
- Strong knowledge of aluminium extrusions and profiles

- Experience in fabrication/manufacturing
- Ability to read and create engineering drawings
- Strong GD&T; and dimensional understanding

- BOM preparation

- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

Preferred
- Experience with laser cutting and CNC

- Experience preparing DXF/DWG files
- Experience with aluminium TIG/MIG welding and fabrication
- Powder-coating knowledge
- Experience with architectural products, doors, windows, façades or gates
- Experience designing large fabricated assemblies
- Knowledge of structural calculations/load considerations is an advantage

- Comfortable working directly with fabricators and production teams
- Able to independently take ownership of a design from concept to production
- Good at solving practical engineering problems
- Passionate about premium product design and engineering
