Role Summary:
Senior Serrala Archiving SME responsible for solution design, implementation, governance, testing, deployment, and operational readiness of Serrala Neev archiving capabilities supporting SAP S/4HANA active archiving, document storage, archived-data retrieval, compliance, and legacy ERP decommissioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design, implementation, and deployment of Serrala Neev archiving capabilities for SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
- Develop the enterprise archiving strategy, roadmap, governance model, archiving playbook, retention schedule, operating procedures, and deployment approach across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and legacy systems.
- Conduct discovery and design workshops to identify data-growth drivers, in-scope archiving objects, business dependencies, legal and compliance constraints, retrieval requirements, reporting needs, and decommissioning objectives.
- Configure and validate SAP archiving objects, variants, residence and retention periods, dependency sequencing, write/delete/store processes, background jobs, indexes, and archived-data access.
- Apply SAP archiving capabilities and concepts including ADK, Archive Information System, SAP ILM, ArchiveLink, content repositories, and retention or destruction controls according to project scope.
- Integrate Serrala with SAP Content Server, OpenText, cloud repositories, or equivalent enterprise content-management platforms and validate secure storage, indexing, search, access, and retrieval.
- Design legacy ERP retrieval and closed-loop access models that allow authorized users to retrieve historical data and attachments from SAP S/4HANA or approved web/Fiori interfaces.
- Support structured SAP data and attachment archiving, including compliant cloud storage, retention, residency, audit trails, SSO, MFA, and role-based access requirements.
- Coordinate archiving waves, pilot execution, end-to-end testing,
reconciliation, cutover, destruction evidence, application decommissioning readiness, go-live, and hypercare.
- Act as the primary escalation point for archiving jobs, retrieval failures, content-repository issues, data reconciliation, performance, compliance evidence, and operational stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary Serrala Archiving SME for customer and program leadership.
- Own the functional and technical archiving design, object inventory, dependencies, configuration standards, runbooks, reconciliation framework, retrieval model, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with business and technical owners to preserve reporting, audit, legal-hold, privacy, retention, and ongoing business-access requirements.
- Define monitoring and operational controls for archiving jobs, archive growth, database reduction, failed objects, storage, retrieval success, access, and compliance.
- Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Order-to-Cash, BASIS, Security, Infrastructure, Data, Integration, Legal, Compliance, Records Management, and business teams.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, stakeholder communication, vendor coordination, onsite-offshore delivery, and deployment readiness.
- Provide knowledge transfer, support handover, monitoring procedures, operational documentation, and continuous-improvement recommendations.
Requirements
- Minimum 10-15+ years of SAP information-management, archiving, BASIS, data-management, or related enterprise experience.
- Proven hands-on implementation and solution-design experience with Serrala archiving solutions,
preferably Serrala Neev, in SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA landscapes.
- Robust expertise in SAP data archiving, document archiving, information lifecycle management, archiving objects, ADK, AIS, SAP ILM, retention rules, and data-destruction controls.
- Experience integrating Serrala with SAP Content Server, OpenText, ArchiveLink, cloud object storage, or equivalent content repositories.
- Strong understanding of data-volume management, database-growth analysis, archiving job scheduling, dependency sequencing, indexes, storage, retrieval, and performance optimization.
- Experience defining or implementing retention, residency, legal-hold, audit, SOX, privacy, security, and records-management requirements with appropriate stakeholders.
- Experience supporting S/4HANA transformation, archived-data access, historical-data disposition, reconciliation, cutover, legacy-system decommissioning, and hypercare.
- Excellent workshop facilitation, documentation, structured problem-solving, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, leadership, and customer-facing consulting skills.
Project-Specific Requirements
- Experience delivering Serrala/Neev archiving for SAP S/4HANA active data, documents, attachments, and legacy ERP decommissioning.
- Experience designing and validating Fiori-based or embedded retrieval of archived information and attachments.
- Experience executing pilots and phased archiving waves by company code, fiscal year, business area, or archiving object.
- Experience producing reconciliation evidence, retrieval-service-level evidence, database-reduction KPIs, audit evidence, legal-hold validation, and destruction certificates where required.
- Experience supporting ECC or other legacy-ERP shutdown readiness while preserving approved historical-data access.
- Ability to work independently with global, multi-vendor teams and lead critical design, cutover, decommissioning, compliance, and stabilization discussions.
