Senior Architectural Design & Documentation Specialist
Canadian Projects | Remote in India | Permanent Night Shift

K4 Construction Ltd. is an established general contractor based in British Columbia, Canada. We deliver commercial, healthcare, institutional, residential and renovation projects throughout the province.
We are seeking an experienced architectural professional in India to support the design development, documentation and coordination of our Canadian construction projects.
This is an architectural position—not a general project-management or estimating role. The successful applicant must have an architectural education, solid Revit skills, direct Canadian project experience and a solid understanding of Canadian construction drawings and building-code requirements.
Working Hours
This position follows K4 Construction’s Vancouver business hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Vancouver time
Approximate India working hours
- 8:30 p.m.–5:30 a.m. IST during Pacific Daylight Time
- 9:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m. IST during Pacific Standard Time
Occasional Saturday work may be required with advance notice.
Applicants must be comfortable working permanent night-shift hours and adjusting their schedule when Canadian daylight-saving time changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, schedules and consultant documents.
- Develop and revise architectural drawings using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Prepare floor plans, demolition plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules.
- Assist with permit, tender and issued-for-construction drawing packages.
- Assist with space planning, layouts, material selections and architectural detailing.
- Review drawings for general compliance with applicable Canadian and British Columbia building-code requirements.
- Review occupancy classifications, construction types, exits, travel distances, fire separations and accessibility requirements.
- Coordinate architectural documents with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil and specialty consultants.
- Identify drawing conflicts, missing information,
code concerns and constructability issues.
- Prepare drawing markups, revisions and requests for information.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for architectural coordination.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision records and document-control logs.
- Assist with record drawings, quantity takeoffs, material schedules and change documentation.
- Participate in virtual project meetings with K4’s Canadian team, consultants and subcontractors.
- Communicate clearly and promptly regarding drawing, design and coordination concerns.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and protect all company, client and project information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in architecture, architectural technology, building technology or a closely related field.
- Minimum four years of relevant architectural design or construction-documentation experience.
- Minimum one year of direct experience working on Canadian building projects; two or more years is strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
- Robust working knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
- Demonstrated ability to produce coordinated architectural drawing packages.
- Knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada and British Columbia Building Code.
- Familiarity with Canadian permit, tender and construction-documentation practices.
- Understanding of fire separations, exiting, accessibility, wall assemblies and general life-safety requirements.
- Ability to work with both metric and imperial measurements.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to work Vancouver business hours permanently from India.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registration with the Council of Architecture in India.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360 or Navisworks.
- Experience working on British Columbia projects.
- Experience with commercial tenant improvements,
healthcare, institutional, multifamily or renovation projects.
- Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and consultant revisions.
- Familiarity with Canadian MasterFormat or CSI specification divisions.
Remote-Work Requirements The successful applicant must provide:
- A computer capable of efficiently operating current Revit project files.
- A minimum of two monitors.
- Reliable high-speed internet, preferably 50 Mbps or higher.
- Backup internet and reasonable backup-power arrangements.
- Webcam, professional headset and microphone.
- A quiet, secure and professional workspace.
K4 Construction will provide access to the licensed project software and cloud platforms required for the position.
Compensation
- ₹80,000–₹1,10,000 gross per month, based on qualifications, technical ability and direct Canadian experience.
- Initial 90-day probationary period.
- Written performance and compensation review following successful completion of probation.
- Exceptional candidates with extensive Canadian or British Columbia experience may be considered above the stated range.
Professional Role
This position supports K4 Construction and the registered professionals responsible for each project. It is not an Architect of Record position and does not include signing or sealing architectural documents.
