A Senior Accountant in a Chartered Accountancy (CA) firm leads end-to-end accounting assignments, statutory audits, tax filings, and client compliance. This role bridges the gap between Partners and junior staff (articled assistants and junior accountants), ensuring deliverable quality and deadline adherence across multiple client portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

- Financial Statement Preparation: Draft and finalize balance sheets, profit & loss accounts, and cash flow statements in compliance with applicable Accounting Standards (AS / Ind AS) and Schedule III.
- Audit Execution: Lead execution for statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits (Form 3CD); prepare audit working papers and draft audit observations.
- Direct Tax Compliance: Compute advance tax,



prepare and review Income Tax Returns (ITR-1 through ITR-7), and manage TDS calculation, deduction, and quarterly return filings (Form 24Q, 26Q, 27Q).
- Indirect Tax (GST) Compliance: Review and file monthly/quarterly returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), reconcile books with GSTR-2B, and prepare annual GST returns (GSTR-9/9C).
- Supervision & Quality Review: Review vouchers, ledgers, and bank/vendor reconciliations completed by junior accountants and article assistants before partner sign-off.
- Client Advisory & Representation: Handle day-to-day client queries regarding accounting treatment, draft responses to tax notices, and compile scrutiny/assessment submissions.
- Statutory Payroll & Other Compliances: Verify PF, ESIC, and Skilled Tax computations and ledger provisions for corporate clients.
