Reports to: Engineering Manager** Role Overview Owns test coverage across web applications, APIs and financial workflows. The role is automation-first: manual testing is used for exploratory work and edge cases, while regression and release validation run through maintained automated suites.

Expects hands-on use of AI tooling to accelerate this work — generating and maintaining test cases from requirements, expanding coverage on existing suites, triaging failures and reducing flakiness — with the engineer accountable for the quality and correctness of what the tooling produces.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain automated test suites using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or equivalent frameworks.
- Use AI-assisted tooling to generate, extend and maintain test cases and test data, and to triage and reduce flaky failures.
- Design and execute test plans, test cases and regression suites for web and API-based applications.
- Test payment workflows, reconciliation logic, financial calculations and transaction-related systems with a high accuracy bar.
- Conduct API testing using Postman and REST Assured, and validate backend data using SQL.
- Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines and release validation.
- Perform functional, regression, integration and exploratory testing across product modules.
- Track and close defects using defect management tools, and report on product quality metrics.




- Collaborate with developers, product managers and business teams through sprint planning and requirement reviews.

Qualifications

- 2–4 years of skilled experience in QA or software testing for SaaS, fintech or enterprise products, with a majority in test automation.
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress or Playwright, and a programming language used for test development.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate test creation, maintenance or triage.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman and REST Assured.
- Intermediate SQL skills for backend data validation and verification.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution workflows.
- Strong understanding of the software testing lifecycle, QA methodologies and defect management, in Agile / Scrum environments.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.

Preferred / General Requirements

- Experience testing fintech, accounting, payments or finance automation platforms.
- Exposure to testing non-deterministic systems — model or agent outputs, extraction accuracy, evaluation datasets.
- Understanding of performance, security and usability testing concepts.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills, with attention to detail and a high quality bar.
