Role & responsibilities

Role purpose To build prototype / development engines to defined specifications with high accuracy and quality, ensuring correct component selection, measurement, assembly ,documentation and build traceability to support engine development and testing activities.

Key responsibilities

- Build and assemble prototype/development engines as per engineering drawings, specifications and defined procedures
- Perform accurate Pre/Post test measurement, inspection and verification of engine components and critical assembly parameters
- Ensure correct component identification, orientation, fitment, torque, clearances and assembly sequence
- Support engine strip-down, inspection, rework and rebuild during development and validation activities
- Maintain complete build records, measurement reports, component traceability and engine history
- Support engineers during prototype testing, failure investigation and teardown analysis
- Ensure proper use, calibration and maintenance of special tools, torque tools and measuring instruments
- Coordinate with design, calibration, testing, quality, machining and suppliers to resolve build-related issues
- Part procurement planning, inventory,



traceability and scrapping
- Strict Adherence to Process and follow 5S/ IATF/EHS/Safety audit requirements

Essential skills
- Robust hands-on knowledge of IC engine construction, components and assembly processes
- Good understanding of engine clearances, cleanliness, torque specifications, fits, tolerances and measurement technique
- Proficiency in using micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, dial gauges, torque wrenches and other precision tools
- Strong attention to detail, quality consciousness and ability to follow engineering specifications and build procedures
- Read and understand complex drawings and ESKs

Preferred experience
- Experience in prototype/development engine building, engine assembly or automotive powertrain development
- Hands-on experience with Diesel, CNG IC engine platforms
- Experience in engine measurement, teardown analysis, failure investigation and prototype rework
- Exposure to engine testing, calibration/development programs and engineering change implementation
