ABOUT US

We're building out DHANODE's engineering team — backend, frontend, infrastructure and security — while also running client software projects through our development company. Sprints, standups and backlog grooming currently happen informally, if at all, and it shows: work slips, priorities get lost, and the same blockers come up sprint after sprint.

THE ROLE

This role owns the Scrum process for our engineering team — planning, standups, retros, backlog grooming — and makes sure blockers get removed the same day, not the same week. You report progress to the founder in plain numbers and plain language, not agile jargon he has to decode.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Run daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retros for the engineering team
- Own and groom the backlog with the team — priorities set, dependencies flagged, nothing vague going into a sprint
- Remove blockers fast — chase whoever or whatever is holding the team up the same day it's raised
- Track velocity and sprint health honestly, and flag early when a sprint is going to slip, not after
- Report progress to the founder in plain, direct language — what shipped, what's blocked, what's next — no agile jargon he has to decode
- Coordinate across multiple simultaneous projects and workstreams, not just one team's sprint
- Coach the team on Agile/Scrum practices without turning it into process for its own sake
- Work with whoever owns the actual product decisions to keep the backlog realistic, not aspirational
- Keep sprint tracking (Jira, Trello or similar)

- Protect the team's focus time from constant scope changes mid-sprint

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile lead, ideally in a small or fast-moving team, not just a large structured program
- CSM, PSM or equivalent certification
- Real experience running the full ceremony set — standups, planning, reviews, retros — not just attending them
- Comfortable translating technical blockers into plain updates for a non-technical founder
- Confident enough to push back on scope creep and unrealistic timelines, respectfully but firmly
- Experience with a tracking tool — Jira, Trello, Linear or similar — enough to set one up properly, not just use one
- Calm under tight, fast-moving delivery timelines — this is not a slow-moving enterprise environment

BONUS POINTS
- Experience coordinating Scrum across more than one product or team at once
- Some technical background — enough to understand what "blocked on API" actually means
- Experience in a startup or small product company, not only IT services
- SAFe or scaled-Agile exposure

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
- Not a project manager who also does Scrum on the side — this is a dedicated process role
- Not a role for someone who runs ceremonies because the calendar says to — every ceremony needs to earn its time
- Not a title without teeth — you're expected to actually remove blockers, not just log them
