PROJECT DELIVERY LEAD
Digital Mining Deployment • Multi-Site
Location: On-site, field-based across two operating underground mine sites in Rajasthan. This is a site-based role (not remote or hybrid), with regular travel between the two locations adjacent to each other and underground access required.
Engagement: Multi-year deployment program.
Reports to: Project Director.
About the company
MineExcellence is establishing itself as a leader in mining industry-related software technology in certain specific areas. We provide multiple core offerings currently Software for open-cast as well as underground drilling and blasting.
We offer an enterprise platform for underground drill/blast. Our solution integrates mine planning, drone or scanner-based surveying, web/offline tablet-based blast design, post-blast analysis, stope recovery percentage assessment, and stope optimization solutions. The platform is currently used by Tier-1 large mining companies as an Enterprise platform, small mining companies and at individual mines, and by drilling and blasting contractors.
We have customers in 8 countries all over the globe currently including Chile, Indonesia, Africa, the United States, Mexico, Australia, and India, etc in both open cast and underground mining products.
About the role
We are deploying an integrated digital drill-and-blast optimisation solution combining specialist software with field hardware (gyroscope deviation surveys, underground drone scanning, rugged-tablet fragmentation analysis and collar-positioning systems) — across two underground mining operations. We are looking for a solid, hands-on Project Delivery Lead to own end-to-end delivery across both sites and act as the single accountable point for delivery, coordination and client relationship.
This is a demanding, field-based role for someone who leads from the ground, not the desk. Strong project management and coordination skills are the core requirement.
A mining background is preferred but not essential — we will support the right delivery-focused candidate to ramp on the domain.
Key responsibilities
Delivery and cross-site coordination
- Run the program as one coherent delivery across both sites: shared standards, aligned reporting and a common way of working, while flexing to each site’s plan and conditions.
- Sequence commissioning, surveys, scanning, blast design and fragmentation analysis against each site’s monthly work plan.
- Balance resource and equipment coverage between the two sites, including movement of shared/limited assets to maintain availability against contractual commitments.
Team and subcontractor management
- Lead and coordinate the on-site teams across both locations — mining/diploma engineers, drone pilots, helpers, and software/technical leads.
- Manage subcontractor performance and interfaces (vehicles, specialist services, contract labour), holding them to schedule, safety and quality.
Client and stakeholder management
- Act as the primary day-to-day interface with the client at both sites — contract, operations, planning and survey teams.
- Secure site-side prerequisites (access, power/network, workspace, statutory and equipment clearances) and escalate blockers early.
Performance ownership
- Drive the contracted performance targets across both sites (ore recovery, dilution reduction, drilling compliance, fragmentation, scan coverage, design-to-execution data integration and stope turnaround time).
- Track equipment availability closely given its direct commercial impact,
and maintain the evidence trail for performance-linked payments.
- Ensure recommendations are documented and issued where outcomes depend on client-side corrective action.
Safety, compliance and governance
- Enforce underground safety rules, statutory requirements and IT/cyber-security policies across all deployed systems and both teams.
- Own project governance: design sign-offs, calibration certificates, bill-of-materials approvals, SOPs, training delivery, and data confidentiality/handover.
Reporting
- Produce consistent performance, availability and compliance reporting across both sites for internal leadership and the client.
What you’ll need
Essential
- Proven track record delivering projects in India, ideally in industrial, infrastructure, heavy-industry or field-technology deployments — someone who has delivered on the ground.
- Strong project management and coordination skills: planning, resourcing, risk and issue management, stakeholder handling, and holding a distributed multi-site team and subcontractors to schedule.
- Willing and medically able to be site-based in a demanding operational environment, travel between two locations, and work underground.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills, credible with senior operational and technical stakeholders.
- Data- and reporting-literate, able to drive decisions from performance dashboards and KPIs.
- Project management certification (PMP / PRINCE2 / equivalent) preferred.
Preferred (not essential)
- Mining, underground operations, or drill-and-blast domain experience.
- Familiarity with survey/geospatial or field-sensor technology (gyroscopes, drones/LiDAR, fragmentation analysis) and industry-standard mine planning software.
- Experience deploying integrated software-plus-hardware solutions in the field.Role & responsibilities
