- Other Balance-of-Plant electrical and electromechanical components
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement for SHK Turbine manufacturing and renewable-energy EPC projects.
- Review engineering drawings, BOMs, material specifications and purchase requisitions before initiating procurement.
- Identify, develop and maintain a strong pan-India vendor and OEM database.
- Float RFQs/RFPs and obtain competitive quotations from approved and potential vendors.
- Prepare detailed techno-commercial comparison statements and recommend suitable suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty,
freight, taxes and other commercial conditions.
- Issue and follow up Purchase Orders in coordination with Projects, Engineering, Finance and Management.
- Source materials directly from manufacturers, mills, OEMs and authorized distributors wherever commercially advantageous.
- Monitor procurement against project schedules and ensure on-time delivery of critical materials.
- Coordinate inspection, testing, quality documentation and material acceptance with QA/QC and engineering teams.
- Verify MTCs, test certificates, technical datasheets, warranties and other vendor documentation.
- Coordinate transportation and logistics for delivery to manufacturing facilities and project sites.
- Track procurement budgets and continuously identify opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering without compromising quality.
- Develop alternate vendors to reduce single-source dependency and supply-chain risks.
- Maintain procurement MIS, PO trackers, vendor-performance records, cost databases and material-delivery schedules.
- Resolve vendor-related quality, quantity, delivery and commercial issues.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, QA/QC, Stores, Finance and Site Teams.
Candidate Profile
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Industrial or related Engineering discipline.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in:
Heavy Engineering | Renewable Energy | Hydropower | Power Plants | Turbine Manufacturing | EPC | Steel Fabrication | Electrical Equipment | Industrial Machinery | Capital Equipment The candidate should preferably have:
- Strong understanding of stainless steel, MS/HR steel, structural steel, pipes, plates, sections and fasteners.
- Experience procuring motors, generators, gearboxes, electrical panels and industrial electrical equipment.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings, BOMs and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of RFQ, comparative statements, PO processing and vendor evaluation.
- Proven ability in techno-commercial negotiation and cost optimization.
- Good understanding of GST, freight, payment terms and commercial procurement practices.
- Experience developing manufacturers, OEMs and alternate vendors.
- Strong Excel and procurement MIS skills.
- Positive written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work under project deadlines and manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a hands-on procurement professional, not merely a purchase-order coordinator.
The candidate should be capable of taking ownership of a procurement requirement from:
BOM / Specification → Vendor Identification → RFQ → Technical Evaluation → Commercial Comparison → Negotiation → PO → Inspection → Logistics → Delivery The ideal candidate should understand the difference between simply obtaining the lowest quotation and achieving the best total procurement value in terms of technical compliance, quality, price, delivery reliability, warranty and lifecycle performance.
Key Performance Areas
Performance will primarily be evaluated on:
- Procurement cost optimization
- On-time material availability
- Vendor development
- Quality and specification compliance
- Negotiation and commercial savings
- Reduction in procurement lead times
- Development of alternate sources
- Vendor performance and reliability
- Procurement documentation and traceability
- Support to uninterrupted manufacturing and project execution
Why Join MACLEC?
The selected candidate will become part of MACLEC's growing renewable-energy manufacturing and project-execution ecosystem and will work directly on procurement for Surface Hydrokinetic Turbine power plants and associated electromechanical systems.
The position provides exposure to a diverse procurement portfolio covering metals, fabrication, machining, mechanical power transmission, generators, motors, electrical systems, automation and Balance-of-Plant equipment.
