Role Description The PLC Programmer Trainee will support the design, development, and testing of PLC programs for industrial automation projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in wiring and panel checks, loading and modifying PLC logic under supervision, troubleshooting basic control issues on shop floor or site, and documenting program changes and system configurations. The trainee will help in commissioning automation systems, collaborating with senior engineers to understand process requirements,
and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, requiring regular coordination with project teams and occasional visits to customer locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of PLC programming concepts, ladder logic, and industrial control systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, instrumentation, and automation hardware (sensors, actuators, drives).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and process flow documents.
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA interfaces and industrial communication protocols is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in testing and documentation.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and technicians on-site.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies, and follow safety and quality procedures in an industrial setting.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent practical training).
