ABOUT UD FOOD PRODUCTS
U.D. Food Products is a Ghaziabad-based food manufacturing company with 250+ employees operating across two business verticals:
- B2B Food Raw Materials: Manufacturing corn and rice-based raw ingredients for snacks manufacturers across India. SOP-driven, quality-focused production with FSSAI compliance and hygiene emphasis.
- FMCG Snacks: Consumer brand "Kutkut" packaged snacks and namkeen products distributed through modern trade, e-commerce, and traditional retail.
The company operates a 6600+ sq. meter manufacturing facility with production lines, QC labs, and warehousing. Workforce split: ~60% factory/operations, ~40% office/functional staff. Company Status: Profitable and in growth phase (15% revenue CAGR). Expanding into current product lines and distribution channels. Planning to scale to 350+ employees over 3 years.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a hands-on Plant HR Manager who can:
Independently manage 250+ employees (factory + office)
Own recruitment, attendance, payroll, compliance, discipline, and performance
Build HR from transactional to strategic
Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics and other heads
Report directly to senior management
This is NOT a recruitment-only role or HR admin desk job. This is full ownership of plant HR operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Prepare manpower plans; manage recruitment for factory + office positions
- Handle sourcing through joining; build recruitment pipeline
- Monitor time-to-hire, recruitment cost, quality of hiring
2. Plant / Factory Operations
- Day-to-day HR management for manufacturing workforce (blue-collar + supervisory)
- Maintain attendance discipline; address absenteeism and manpower gaps
- Coordinate with Production/HODs on workforce issues
- Ensure factory compliance with company policies and SOPs
3. Attendance & Payroll Coordination
- Maintain accurate attendance and leave records (biometric systems)
- Verify overtime, leave, deductions, incentives
- Coordinate monthly payroll with Accounts; ensure on-time processing
- Identify abnormal patterns; control payroll costs
4. Labour Law & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UP labour laws and factory regulations
- Manage PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Board requirements
- Maintain statutory registers and documentation
- Coordinate labour inspections and statutory correspondence
- Zero tolerance for compliance violations
5. Employee Relations & Discipline
- Handle grievances, complaints, misconduct cases objectively
- Investigate and recommend disciplinary action
- Issue warning letters, show-cause notices, termination letters
- Manage factory-level employee relations
- Maintain fair, firm, professional work environment
6. Performance Management & Development
- Implement structured appraisal process
- Set KPIs with department heads
- Monitor probation/confirmation
- Identify underperformers; coordinate improvement plans
- Organize training (induction, technical, safety, compliance)
7. HR Systems & SOPs
- Develop and implement HR policies and SOPs
- Standardize processes: recruitment, onboarding, attendance, discipline, separation
- Maintain org charts, job descriptions, role matrices
- Reduce dependency on person-specific processes
8. HR MIS & Reporting
- Prepare monthly HR dashboards for management:
- Manpower (total, dept-wise, vacancies, new joinings, separations)
- Absenteeism, overtime, leave trends
- Recruitment status and cost
- Attrition, performance, training, disciplinary cases
- Use Excel for MIS analysis and data-driven recommendations
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE Must-Have Qualifications: 815 years of hands-on HR experience (NOT recruitment only)
Manufacturing/Plant HR experience mandatory (food, FMCG, pharma, industrial)
Blue-collar workforce management (100+ factory employees)
Labour compliance experience (PF, ESIC, factory acts, statutory)
Employee relations & discipline (grievance handling, misconduct investigation)
Recruitment & manpower planning ownership
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA / PGDM in HR or Personnel Management
- Experience managing 200+ workforce in manufacturing
- Food/FMCG industry background
- Strong Excel/HR MIS capability
- Prior HR system implementation or SOP documentation
- Delhi NCR / Ghaziabad location

WORK SETUP & PRACTICAL DETAILS
Location: UD Foods office/facility, Ghaziabad (on-site)
Plant Exposure: 23 days/week on manufacturing floor
Tools: Google Workspace, biometric attendance, Excel-based HR systems
Team Structure: Solo HR leadership initially; support from MIS/Admin for data entry
Travel: Minimal (only for statutory inspections or facility visits)
Career Growth: Opportunity to expand to Regional HR Head / Group HR Lead as company scales
