Job Summary

Seth M. R. Jaipuria School, Sahaswan is looking for a skilled and passionate PE Specialist – Basketball to lead basketball training and contribute to the overall physical education programme of the school.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of basketball, excellent coaching and communication skills, and the ability to identify and develop students with sporting potential.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct structured Basketball coaching and training sessions for students across different age groups.
- Develop students' fundamental basketball skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, ball handling, defence, rebounding and game strategy.
- Plan age-appropriate training programmes focusing on skill development, fitness, agility, speed, coordination and endurance.
- Train and prepare school basketball teams for inter-school, district and other competitions.
- Conduct regular practice matches, drills and performance assessments.
- Identify talented students and provide advanced coaching for competitive-level performance.
- Teach students the rules, techniques, strategies and sportsmanship associated with basketball.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality and a positive sporting setting during training sessions.
- Ensure proper warm-up, cool-down and injury-prevention practices.
- Maintain records of student participation, attendance and performance.
- Ensure the safe and proper use of basketball equipment and sports facilities.
- Organise and coordinate basketball tournaments, competitions, sports events and inter-house activities.
- Support the school's Physical Education programme and participate in Annual Sports Day and other sporting events.




- Encourage students to develop teamwork, leadership, discipline, confidence and a healthy competitive spirit.
- Communicate effectively with parents and the academic team regarding students' sports development when required.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programmes and professional development activities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science or a relevant field.
- B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed. or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Recognised Basketball coaching certification will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of basketball techniques, rules, fitness training and game strategies.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Basketball Coach/PE Teacher in a reputed school, academy or sports institution preferred.
- Experience in coaching school-level or competitive basketball teams will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with experience in inter-school, district or state-level competitions will be preferred.
- Former competitive basketball players with strong coaching aptitude may also be considered.
