Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and agile Physical Director / Director of Physical Education & Sports to lead and develop the colleges sports and physical education activities. The candidate will be responsible for promoting sports participation, managing sports facilities, organising inter-collegiate and intra-collegiate events, and supporting the overall physical fitness and wellbeing of students.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate and supervise the college’s Physical Education and Sports activities.
- Develop annual sports and physical education plans in line with applicable higher education and university requirements.
- Organise inter-collegiate, intra-collegiate and university-level sports events.
- Identify, train and mentor talented students and sports teams.
- Coordinate participation in university, district, state and other recognised competitions.
- Maintain and develop sports grounds, courts, gymnasium, equipment and other sports facilities.
- Prepare and maintain sports-related records, registers, budgets and reports.
- Ensure proper utilisation, maintenance and safety of sports equipment and facilities.
- Coordinate with universities, sports associations, government bodies and other institutions as required.
- Encourage maximum student participation in sports, physical fitness and wellness programmes.




- Guide and supervise Physical Education staff, coaches and support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with applicable UGC, Tamil Nadu higher education, affiliating university and institutional norms, wherever applicable.
- Assist the Principal/Management in developing and implementing the college’s sports development initiatives.
- Perform other duties related to Physical Education and Sports as assigned by the Principal/Management.

Eligibility / Qualifications

- Master’s Degree in Physical Education / Sports Science / relevant discipline, as applicable under the norms governing the institution.
- UGC/NET/Ph.D. or other prescribed qualifications, wherever applicable to the post and category of institution.
- Candidates should meet the applicable UGC / State Government / affiliating university regulations in force at the time of recruitment.
- Relevant experience in a college/university or reputed educational institution will be preferred.

Experience

- Preferably 3+ years of relevant experience in Physical Education and Sports administration, preferably in a college/university environment.
- Experience in organising university/inter-collegiate sports events and managing sports facilities will be an advantage.
