About the Role: We run a neighbourhood pharmacy in Prayagraj that is expanding from a pure counter business into counter + home delivery, run on our own store management system. This role combines two jobs into one. You are the registered pharmacist named on our drug licence — responsible for dispensing, prescription verification and statutory records.
You also run the shop: stock, purchase, billing, deliveries and the team. We are looking for a pharmacist who wants to run a business, not only stand behind a counter. This is a hands-on floor role. You will be present on the shop floor during operating hours.
Job Responsibilities: Dispense medicines personally or under your direct supervision. Verify prescriptions before dispensing; dispense Schedule H and H1 drugs only against a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner Maintain the Schedule H1 register and all other statutory registers accurately and up to date Counsel customers on dosage, timing, storage, common side effects and interactions Suggest generic or brand substitutes by salt and strength where appropriate, using your professional judgement Screen home-delivery and orders before they are dispatched Maintain cold-chain and general storage conditions; check temperature Conduct Regular Audits for damaged or expired stock Store operations responsibilities Inventory Maintain stock accuracy through daily cycle counts, rack discipline,
and batch/expiry tracking Run near-expiry and dead-stock reviews; coordinate distributor returns before value is lost Keep fast-moving SKUs always available and own the reorder list Purchase Raise purchase orders against reorder levels and the customer request book Receive goods against invoice — verify quantity, batch, expiry, rate, scheme and MRP before entry Enter GST purchase bills in the system (or verify scanned entries) the same day goods arrive Negotiate rates, schemes and credit terms with distributors Billing and counter Ensure every sale is billed in the system with correct GST, batch and expiry — no off-system sales Supervise counter staff during peak hours; handle escalations, returns and credit notes Own daily cash reconciliation and handover Delivery operations Assign and track delivery orders to riders through the staff app Own delivery TAT, order accuracy and rider attendance Resolve failed, delayed or wrong-item deliveries the same day Customer requests and retention Maintain the customer request book for items asked for but unavailable; close the daily open list with callbacks once stock arrives Build repeat business with chronic-medication customers through timely refill reminders Team Roster, supervise and train counter staff and delivery riders Enforce SOPs for dispensing, billing, stock handling and customer interaction What success looks like (first 6 months)
Statutory registers complete and inspection-ready at any time, with zero dispensing violations Stock accuracy above 98% between system and physical count Near-expiry write-off value reduced month on month Zero unbilled sales Purchase bills entered within 3 hours of receipt Delivery TAT within the promised window on 95%+ of orders Daily customer requests closed with a callback within 12 hours Requirements D.Pharm or B.Pharm with a valid, current registration with the Uttar Pradesh State Pharmacy Council (mandatory — this role is named on our drug licence) 3+ years in a retail pharmacy, with at least 1 year supervising staff or independently running a counter Solid working knowledge of medicine categories, salts and substitutes, batches, expiry, schemes and MRP-based pricing Comfortable with billing/inventory software and a smartphone-based app; basic Excel Fluent Hindi and functional English; accurate reading of prescriptions Based in or willing to relocate to Prayagraj Honest with cash and stock — this role carries daily custody of both Preferred Experience in a pharmacy chain, hospital pharmacy or online/home-delivery pharmacy operation Prior experience handling distributor negotiations and returns Experience facing a drug inspection or license renewal Basic understanding of chronic-care categories (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory) and the refill cycle Working hours : Shop hours, 6 days a week, with rotational shifts and coverage on Sundays and festivals. Peak-season and emergency availability expected.
