About the Role
We are looking for a creative and experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The candidate will support the Pastry Chef in managing daily pastry production while ensuring excellent taste, quality, consistency, presentation, hygiene, and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily pastry and dessert production.
- Prepare cakes, pastries, desserts, cookies, breads, and other bakery products.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portioning, and presentation.
- Follow approved recipes, SOPs, and production schedules.
- Supervise and train Commis and junior pastry team members.
- Maintain proper mise en place and smooth kitchen operations.
- Monitor inventory, food cost, portion control, and wastage.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, FIFO/FEFO, and hygiene standards.
- Follow FSSAI, HACCP, and company food-safety standards.
- Assist the Pastry Chef in developing new and seasonal dessert items.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma/Degree/Certification in Bakery & Pastry Arts / Culinary Arts / Hotel Management.
- 4–6 years of relevant pastry/bakery experience.
- Experience in a premium restaurant, café, hotel, or bakery preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and dessert presentation.
- Good leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
- Creative, disciplined, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced restaurant environment.
