Job Title: Sr. Oracle Engineer

Location: India remotely

Work hours : 5am-1pmEST ( 2:30- 10:30pm IST)

Duration: 12mo ongoing contract

Must-haves:

7-10+ years of Oracle-focused software engineering or database development experience

Advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience

Expertise with Oracle Database architecture, data modeling, stored procedures, packages, triggers, and performance tuning

Experience supporting accounting, finance, or other financial systems applications

Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance complex database and business logic

Experience supporting applications built on Oracle technology stacks

Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools, ideally Claude, to improve productivity

Experience working in Agile environments with 2-week sprint cycles

Strong communication skills and the ability to independently drive work forward

Experience supporting or developing .NET applications that integrate with Oracle databases

Plusses:

Hands-on Oracle Financials experience

Insurance industry experience

Experience supporting Oracle transformation or ERP modernization initiatives

We are seeking a Senior Oracle Engineer for a top insurance industry client. This candidate will support client's enterprise-wide Oracle transformation initiative, working to develop, enhance, and optimize critical financial applications. The ideal candidate will be heavily involved in hands-on Oracle development, including Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, complex queries, and database logic, while translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

This individual will support enhancements, integrations, and modernization efforts across global financial systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive development work throughout the software lifecycle. The setting follows a 2-week Agile sprint model with a heavy focus on development work and about 2-4 hours per week dedicated to standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and sprint demos. The team is looking for a highly proactive engineer who can take ownership of work, execute independently, communicate effectively, and contribute to the success of a large-scale Oracle Financials transformation.
