Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Modeling & Detailing Engineer – Wiring Harness with 7–9 years of expertise in wiring harness design, modeling, and detailing.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing production-ready 3D harness models, optimizing harness routing and splice locations, creating manufacturing drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure compliance with wiring harness standards and manufacturing requirements.
Strong proficiency in Creo Cabling, wiring harness detailing standards, and harness manufacturing processes is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify 3D wiring harness models using Creo Cabling based on engineering design requirements.
- Collaborate with Wiring Design Engineers to create production-ready harness models.
- Optimize wire splice allocation in accordance with CAT or equivalent wiring harness standards.
- Coordinate with Schematic Engineers to implement design and schematic updates.
- Repack harness bundles, identify interferences, and resolve packaging issues within the 3D model.
- Flatten wiring harnesses considering machine fitment, installation orientation, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Generate accurate 2D manufacturing drawings following CAT or customer-specific detailing standards.
- Perform Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Teamcenter documentation, drawing releases, and other PLM-related activities.
- Ensure harness designs comply with manufacturing, quality, and engineering standards.
- Support design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Solid experience with Creo Cabling for wiring harness modeling and detailing.
- Expertise in CAT Wiring Harness Standards or equivalent industry harness detailing standards.
- Good understanding of wiring harness manufacturing processes.
- Experience in 3D harness routing, bundle repacking, splice optimization, and interference resolution.
- Knowledge of harness flattening techniques for manufacturing and assembly.
- Proficiency in interpreting machine orientations, installation views, and engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of harness components, connectors, clips, coverings, and associated accessories.
- Experience working with Teamcenter or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
- Familiarity with Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECR) processes.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on heavy equipment, automotive, off-highway, or industrial machinery wiring harness projects.
- Exposure to product development and manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles for wiring harnesses.
