Merchandiser

We are looking for a Merchandiser who will be primarily responsible for managing and coordinating merchandising activities from product development through order execution and delivery. The role requires strong coordination, attention to detail, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.

Along with core merchandising responsibilities, the candidate will also be expected to support various operational and business requirements as needed. This is a versatile role suited for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership of different responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and coordinate the merchandising process from initial enquiry and product development through order completion and shipment.
2. Understand customer requirements and translate them into clear product specifications and execution plans.
3. Coordinate closely with customers, suppliers, production, sourcing, quality, and other relevant teams to ensure smooth order execution.
4. Handle product development, sampling, costing, approvals, and order follow-up as required.
5. Monitor order progress against agreed timelines and ensure timely action at every stage of production.
6. Follow up on materials, production schedules, quality requirements, packing, and shipment to ensure orders are completed on time.
7. Maintain effective communication with customers and provide regular updates on order status, developments, and any potential delays.

Identify issues during the order process and coordinate with the relevant teams to find timely and practical solutions.
9. Maintain accurate records of product specifications, costing, orders, approvals, and other merchandising-related documentation.
10. Build and maintain strong working relationships with Buyers, suppliers, and internal teams.
11. Take ownership of assigned orders and ensure that customer expectations, quality standards, and delivery commitments are met.
12. Support other business and operational activities when required, depending on the needs of the organization.

Ideal Candidate

1. Freshers with a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline are welcome. Candidates with an educational background in Textiles will be preferred.
2. For experienced candidates, relevant experience in the textile or related industry is preferred.
3. Basic knowledge of MS Excel is required.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5. Valuable follow-up and negotiation skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple orders, priorities, and deadlines efficiently.
7. Proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
8. Comfortable working independently as well as with cross-functional teams.
9. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as business requirements evolve.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate

- Salem, Tamil Nadu (Salem): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
