About PHNK

PHNK is building a recent kind of consumer AI experience around Personal AI and human behaviour. We are exploring a fundamental question: As AI becomes increasingly capable of understanding us, can it become genuinely personal — helping people better understand themselves, their behaviour, context and choices? PHNK sits at the intersection of AI, human behaviour, Personal AI and human agency. It is a fast paced Startup which is looking for agility and creativity.

The Role

We are looking for a Media & Communications Lead who is exceptional at understanding, articulating and selling ideas to the media.

This is not a traditional PR execution role. The PHNK team develops the product thinking, insights, POVs and stories. Your role is to take those ideas to the right journalists, editors, podcast hosts and media platforms and make them care. Think of it as media sales: PHNK has the proposition; you create the interest and open the doors.

What You’ll Do

Build relationships with journalists, editors and podcast producers, Identify the right media opportunities for PHNK, Turn PHNK’s ideas and POVs into compelling media pitches, Pitch stories and secure conversations with relevant media, Develop opportunities across Tier 1 and Tier 2 publications, Secure founder interviews,, podcasts, expert commentary and editorial coverage,



Stay close to AI, technology, consumer and cultural trends, Learn what resonates with journalists and continuously improve the approach

Who We’re Looking For

Someone who can do three things exceptionally well

- Understand — Quickly grasp a complex product and its underlying idea.
- Articulate — Explain it simply and compellingly to someone who knows nothing about it.
- Sell — Convince a journalist that the idea is worth their time and their audience’s attention.

You should also have:

Strong storytelling and communication skills, Good understanding of the Indian media landscape, Genuine relationships with relevant journalists, Strong editorial judgement, Curiosity about AI, technology and human behaviour, Persistence and excellent follow-through, Comfort working directly with founding team.

Background

You could come from PR, media relations, journalism, podcast production, editorial, content, media partnerships, business development or sales.

Years of experience matter less to us than demonstrated ability.

How We’ll Evaluate You

As part of the selection process, we’ll give you access to PHNK’s product and existing thinking and ask you to demonstrate how you would take one of our ideas to the media. We’re interested in how you think, how you communicate, and your ability to make a compelling story out of a complex idea. If you know how to make people care about an idea and have the media relationships to get it heard, we’d like to meet you.
