Job Purpose

We are looking for experienced and hands-on Mechanical Assembly Engineers for the assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning support of industrial bagging and packaging machines.

The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in machine assembly and must be willing to personally carry out mechanical assembly, fitting, alignment, and installation activities on the shop floor.

Experience in bagging machines, packaging machines, material handling equipment, conveyors, palletising systems, or similar industrial machinery will be preferred.

Role & responsibilities

- Carry out complete mechanical assembly of bagging machines as per approved drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
- Perform hands-on assembly of machine structures, frames, hoppers, feeders, weighing systems, bag clamps, filling spouts, conveyors, platforms, guards, and other mechanical components.
- Read and understand GA drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and mechanical BOMs.
- Perform fitting, drilling, tapping, grinding, levelling, alignment, and other mechanical assembly activities as required.
- Install and align motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, pulleys, rollers, belt conveyors, chain conveyors, and other drive components.
- Assemble pneumatic components such as cylinders, actuators, valves, air preparation units, tubing, and fittings with coordination from the electrical/automation team.
- Carry out proper alignment and adjustment of weighing and feeding components to ensure smooth machine operation.
- Support the assembly of different types of bagging systems,



including gravity, screw and belt-fed bagging machines, depending on project requirements.
- Support assembly and integration of bag stitching/sealing systems, conveyors, bag handling equipment and palletising systems where applicable.
- Identify assembly problems, dimensional mismatches, fabrication issues, and drawing discrepancies and report them to the engineering/design team.
- Coordinate with fabrication, electrical, automation, production, quality, and design teams during machine assembly.
- Carry out mechanical checks before machine trials and ensure that all fasteners, guards, moving components, and assemblies are properly installed.
- Participate in machine testing, dry trials, FAT and troubleshooting before dispatch.
- Support machine dismantling, packing and preparation for dispatch after successful testing.
- Travel to customer sites when required for installation, erection, commissioning and service support.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems during installation and commissioning at customer sites.
- Maintain proper tools and follow good housekeeping practices in the assembly area.
- Follow company safety procedures and ensure secure working practices during machine assembly and installation.





Preferred candidate profile

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial machine assembly.
- Candidate must be comfortable personally performing assembly and fitting work and should not be limited to supervision.
- Good knowledge of mechanical assembly practices, tolerances, alignment, and fitting.
- Ability to understand mechanical drawings, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
- Practical knowledge of motors, gearboxes, bearings, couplings, pneumatic cylinders, conveyors, and machine components.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic systems.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, spirit levels and other assembly tools.
- Ability to independently identify and troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues.
- Experience with bagging machines, packaging machinery, weighing systems, conveyors, palletisers or material handling systems will be an advantage.
- Willingness to work on the shop floor and travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning.
