Preferred: MBA, Master’s in Sustainability/Environmental Management/Climate Change/Energy Management, CA/CFA or recognised ESG/Sustainability certification. Position Overview We are looking for a technically strong, client-facing ESG professional to lead and deliver ESG advisory and sustainability consulting engagements for corporate clients.

The role will cover BRSR/BRSR Core, sustainability reporting, ESG strategy, carbon accounting, climate change, decarbonisation, CCTS readiness, Green Steel and emerging sustainability requirements. The candidate will independently manage multiple client engagements, lead consulting teams and external specialists, review technical deliverables, present recommendations to senior management and contribute to business development.

Key Responsibilities

- ESG Advisory and BRSR:
- Lead end-to-end ESG advisory engagements including ESG maturity/gap assessments, ESG strategy, governance, materiality, risk & opportunity assessment, KPI/target setting, benchmarking, due diligence and ESG roadmaps.
- Lead BRSR/BRSR Core assignments including applicability assessment, gap assessment, data-point mapping, data validation, reporting support and assurance readiness.
- Develop ESG data templates, reporting protocols, internal controls and evidence frameworks.
- Review BRSR disclosures for accuracy, completeness, consistency and auditability
- Interpret BRSR requirements and explain implications to CEOs, CFOs, Boards and functional heads.
- Sustaonability Advisory:
- Provide advisory on leading sustainability reporting and disclosure. frameworks, including:GRI | SASB | ISSB / IFRS S1 & S2 | TCFD | CDP | UN SDGs | GHG Protocol
- Conduct framework applicability and gap assessments.
- Develop cross-framework mapping and integrated reporting approaches.
- Support sustainability report preparation/review, KPI development and benchmarking.
- Keep abreast of evolving Indian and global ESG disclosure requirements.
- Carbon, Climate and Decarbonisation:
- Lead climate and carbon advisory assignments covering:
- Scope 1,



2 and 3 GHG accounting.
- GHG inventory and emission-factor assessment.
- Carbon accounting and data-quality assessment.
- Climate risk and chance assessment.
- Physical and transition risk.
- Climate scenario analysis
- Net Zero and decarbonisation strategies.
- Carbon reduction initiatives and verification readiness.

The candidate should be able to translate technical carbon data into business implications, financial risks and practical decarbonisation initiatives.
- CCTS & Carbon Market Advisory:

Responsibilities Include

- Strong working knowledge of India’s Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS) is required.
- CCTS applicability and readiness assessments.
- GHG emissions-intensity assessment.
- Baseline and performance assessment
- Identification of decarbonisation opportunities.
- Carbon-credit/carbon-market advisory.
- Evaluation of carbon reduction project
- Coordination with technical experts and verification agencies.
- Advising clients on the impact of CCTS on operations, cost, competitiveness and future strategy.
- Green Steel and Industrial Decarbonisation:

Exposure to Steel,,Metals,Manufacturing or other energy-intensive industries are strongly preferred Working knowledge of: Green Steel | Low-carbon steel | Carbon intensity | Product Carbon Footprint | LCA | Renewable Energy | Green Hydrogen | DRI/EAF | Scrap utilisation | Energy efficiency | Circular economy | Carbon capture

Responsibilities may include Green Steel readiness, carbon-intensity benchmarking, product carbon footprint, decarbonisation roadmaps, low-carbon product strategy and assessment of emerging international carbon regulations.

- ESG Data control and Assurance Redlines:
- Develop ESG data architecture, KPI definitions and data dictionaries
- Establish data ownership, validation and reconciliation mechanisms.
- Develop ESG controls, SOPs and MIS/dashboard frameworks.
- Conduct ESG data-quality assessments
- Support BRSR Core and other ESG assurance readiness.




- Develop ESG risk/control matrices and evidence framing
- Identify and remediate control gaps and coordinate with assurance providers.
- Project team & Management Consulting:
- Manage multiple ESG consulting engagements simultaneously.
- Develop project plans, methodologies, scope, timelines and budgets.
- Lead consultants and analysts and review technical work.
- Monitor project profitability, risks and quality.
- Manage external technical consultants and specialists.
- Define SOWs/RFPs, evaluate proposals and technically challenge consultant methodologies and outputs.
- Ensure timely delivery and high-quality client deliverables.
- Client Management and Business Development:
- Act as a key client contact and lead client workshops.
- Interview CXOs and functional heads.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and Boards.
- Translate complex ESG concepts into clear business recommendations.
- Build long-term client relationships
- Identify new opportunities and support proposals, pitches and solution development.
- Contribute to cross-selling, new client acquisition and growth of the ESG advisory practice.

Experience

- 8–12 years of relevant ESG/sustainability consulting or advisory experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in BRSR/BRSR Core and sustainability reporting.
- Experience with ESG strategy and advisory.
- Strong knowledge of GHG accounting/carbon management.
- Working knowledge of CCTS.
- Exposure to Green Steel/industrial decarbonisation is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing consulting teams, multiple client engagements and external technical consultants.
- Strong senior-management/client-facing experience.
- Exposure to ESG assurance/readiness assignments.

Technical Competencies

- ESG Reporting: BRSR, BRSR Core, GRI, SASB, ISSB/IFRS S1 & S2, TCFD, CDP, SDGs.
- Carbon & Climate: GHG Protocol, Scope 1/2/3, carbon accounting, emission factors, product carbon footprint, climate risk, decarbonisation and Net Zero.
- Indian ESG Landscape: SEBI ESG/BRSR requirements, CCTS, Indian carbon-market developments, ESG assurance and emerging sustainability regulations.
- Industrial Sustainability: Green Steel, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green hydrogen, circular economy, resource efficiency and low-carbon manufacturing.
