Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and hardworking Assistant Mess Cook to support the Main Cook in the preparation of meals for our staff kitchen. The ideal candidate should have good practical knowledge of South Indian cuisine, with strong knowledge of Kerala-style / Kerala cuisine.

The candidate will be responsible for assisting in daily food preparation, cooking, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring timely preparation of meals for staff.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Main Cook in preparing daily staff meals.
- Prepare and cook South Indian dishes, particularly Kerala-style cuisine.
- Assist in the preparation of breakfast, lunch, dinner and other staff meals as required.
- Handle basic food preparation activities such as cutting, cleaning, grinding, marinating and cooking.
- Ensure proper taste, quality and consistency of food.
- Follow instructions from the Main Cook and Kitchen Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, utensils and work areas.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.
- Assist in monitoring and minimizing food wastage.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.




- Support the Main Cook in managing kitchen requirements during busy periods.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Mess Cook / Assistant Cook / Kitchen Assistant is preferred.
- Good knowledge of South Indian cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of Kerala cuisine is essential.
- Should be familiar with Kerala dishes commonly preferred by staff from Kerala.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Should be physically fit, disciplined and willing to work in a staff kitchen workplace.

Preferred Candidate Candidates with experience in staff canteens, mess kitchens, hotels, resorts, hospitals, hostels or institutional kitchens will be preferred.

Candidates having good knowledge of Kerala/South Indian cuisine are strongly encouraged to apply.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
