Position: Head Nurse / Nursing In-Charge

Location: Banjara Hills, Hyderabad

Salary: ₹35,000 – ₹40,000 per month

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Head Nurse / Nursing In-Charge to oversee and manage the nursing department of a reputed hospital in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall supervision and functioning of the nursing team, ensuring quality patient care, proper staffing and duty allocation, adherence to clinical protocols, and smooth coordination between nursing staff, doctors and hospital management.

Key Responsibilities

- Take overall charge of the nursing department and supervise day-to-day nursing operations.
- Lead, supervise and coordinate the nursing team across various departments/shifts.
- Prepare and manage nursing duty rosters and shift schedules.
- Ensure adequate nursing staff availability and proper deployment based on patient workload.
- Monitor the quality and standards of patient care provided by nursing staff.
- Ensure proper implementation of hospital policies, nursing protocols and infection-control practices.
- Supervise medication administration, documentation and other nursing procedures.
- Coordinate closely with doctors, hospital administration and other departments for smooth patient care.
- Conduct regular rounds and monitor nursing activities and patient-care standards.
- Guide, train and mentor nursing staff and identify areas requiring improvement.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, discipline and performance of nursing staff.
- Handle nursing-related issues, complaints and emergencies effectively.




- Ensure proper maintenance of nursing records, patient documentation and departmental reports.
- Monitor availability and appropriate use of nursing equipment, consumables and supplies.
- Ensure proper handover and takeover between shifts.
- Participate in audits, quality initiatives and hospital accreditation-related activities, as applicable.
- Report nursing department issues, staffing requirements and operational concerns to hospital management.
- Take responsibility for maintaining discipline, accountability and professional standards within the nursing team.

Eligibility
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration with the appropriate nursing council.
- Relevant experience in a hospital setting, preferably with prior experience in a Senior Nurse / Nursing Supervisor / Head Nurse / Nursing In-Charge role.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Good knowledge of nursing procedures, patient-care standards and infection-control practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage staff, shifts and nursing operations independently.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Responsible, disciplined and patient-centric approach.

Compensation ₹35,000 – ₹40,000 per month, depending on experience, qualifications and suitability.
