Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Head – Functional Testing / UAT & AI Testing to lead a large team of Functional Testing and UAT professionals supporting a major Banking Technology Transformation and Transaction Banking implementation programme .

The Functional Testing/UAT team will independently validate the application from a business and functional perspective , ensuring that banking transactions, workflows, business rules and application behaviour meet the defined requirements.

The selected candidate will lead a team of approximately 50 Functional Testing/UAT professionals and will be responsible for defining the overall testing strategy, ensuring comprehensive functional coverage, managing stakeholders and driving quality through to UAT sign-off and go-live.

The role also requires a working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI and AI-assisted testing , with the ability to use contemporary AI tools and techniques to improve test scenario generation, coverage, edge-case identification, test data generation and defect analysis.

Key ResponsibilitiesFunctional Testing & UAT Leadership

- Lead and manage a team of approximately 50 Functional Testing/UAT professionals .
- Define and own the overall Functional Testing and UAT strategy, approach, scope, coverage, timelines and quality objectives.
- Review BRDs, Functional Specifications, workflows and business rules and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios.
- Ensure preparation, review and execution of functional test scenarios, test cases and test data.
- Drive comprehensive testing covering positive, negative, boundary, exception and end-to-end scenarios .
- Validate banking transactions across different combinations of inputs, conditions and business rules.




- Challenge the application using valid, invalid, incomplete, unexpected and exceptional inputs.
- Validate mandatory and optional fields, transaction limits, amounts, currencies, dates, account details, authorisations, validations and workflow conditions.
- Compare expected versus actual system behaviour and identify functional gaps.
- Ensure transactions are correctly processed, rejected, held, routed or escalated based on defined business rules.
- Identify scenarios and functional gaps that may not be covered through standard test cases.
- Ensure adequate functional coverage and quality before UAT/business sign-off.

Transaction Banking & Product Coverage The candidate should have strong exposure to Transaction Banking and Banking Transformation programmes , preferably covering one or more of the following modules/products:

- Core Banking
- Payments
- Collections
- Liquidity Management
- Virtual Account Management (VAM)
- Client Onboarding
- Client Services
- Digital Channels
- Other Transaction Banking Products

AI & AI-Assisted Testing
- Apply knowledge of AI and Generative AI to enhance the Functional Testing and UAT lifecycle.
- Use AI-assisted tools for test scenario and test case generation.
- Leverage AI to identify additional test combinations, edge cases, negative scenarios and potential functional gaps.
- Explore AI-assisted approaches for test data generation, test coverage analysis and defect analysis.
- Evaluate AI-enabled application functionality from a business, functional and user perspective.
- Validate AI-generated or AI-driven outputs for accuracy,



consistency, expected behaviour and exception handling.
- Understand the risks and limitations of AI-generated testing outputs and ensure appropriate human validation.
- Guide the testing team in adopting AI tools and AI-assisted testing techniques.
- Stay updated on emerging AI-assisted testing methodologies and tools.

Defect & Stakeholder Management
- Lead defect identification, classification, prioritisation, triage and closure.
- Coordinate closely with Business, Product, Technology, Operations and Implementation teams.
- Drive defect triage meetings and ensure critical issues are addressed within agreed timelines.
- Track testing progress, risks, dependencies, defects and key quality metrics.
- Prepare UAT dashboards, MIS and executive status reports.
- Manage communication with senior stakeholders across Business and Technology teams.
- Support production readiness, go-live and post-implementation validation activities.

Team Leadership
- Provide leadership and direction to a large Functional Testing/UAT team.
- Establish consistent testing standards, processes and quality practices.
- Mentor Test Leads, Senior Testers and UAT Analysts.
- Allocate resources based on project priorities and testing requirements.
- Monitor team productivity, quality and delivery against agreed milestones.

Required Skills & Experience
- 12–20 years of overall experience in Functional Testing, UAT, Business Testing or Banking Application Testing.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a Functional Testing/UAT leadership role .
- Proven experience managing large testing teams , preferably 30–50+ professionals.
- Strong experience in Banking Applications, Transaction Processing, Workflows and Business Processes .
- Strong exposure to Transaction Banking and/or Banking Transformation programmes .
- Strong understanding of Functional and Business Testing methodologies.
