About the Opportunity

nKickstart your engineering career with one of India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers! Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) is offering a 1-year Graduate Apprentice Trainee (GAT) program in our Operations & Logistics function at our state-of-the-art Oragadam plant. This is a hands-on learning opportunity where you will work alongside experienced engineers on real plant operations.

nWhat You Will Do

nInstallation & Commissioning Support

n

n
- Assist engineers and technicians during equipment installation, piping layout, and field activities
n
- Observe and learn alignment, basic instrumentation checks, and mechanical assembly methods
n
- Help prepare tools, materials, and work areas before installation begins
n
- Support routine tasks during testing — pressure tests, leak checks, and basic measurements
n

nSafety & Compliance

n

n
- Ensure PPE usage and follow safety guidelines during all field activities
n
- Assist in setting up barricading, signage, and safe access paths
n
- Participate in toolbox talks to understand site hazards and safety procedures
n
- Report any unsafe condition to technician or engineer immediately
n

nVendor & Team Coordination

n

n
- Assist technician in guiding contractor manpower for simple tasks
n
- Support vendor teams in arranging work platforms, tools, and consumables
n




- Communicate basic updates to technician or engineer as required
n

nDocumentation & Reporting

n

n
- Help record daily material movement — pipes, fittings, tools
n
- Maintain straightforward checklists under supervision
n
- Record field observations, measurements, and simple inspection notes
n
- Assist in updating as-built drawings by marking field changes
n
- Maintain learning logs, training attendance, and skill development records
n

nWho Can Apply

n2025 B.E. / B.Tech pass out — Fresh Graduate ONLY

nDisciplines: Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Industrial Engineering

nProvisional Certificate mandatory at time of joining

nCandidates who have NOT done any apprenticeship or GAT in any other company

nWilling to work on shop floor and field activities

nBased in Chennai or willing to relocate to Oragadam

nNot Eligible If:

- Already completed GAT / Apprenticeship in any other company
n
- Do not have provisional certificate
n
- Pass out year is before 2025
