Front Office Receptionist – Hotel & Resort Industry A Front Office Receptionist in a hotel or resort is responsible for welcoming guests, handling check-in and check-out procedures, managing reservations, responding to guest requests, and providing excellent customer service throughout the guest's stay. The receptionist acts as the first point of contact and plays an important role in creating a warm and memorable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Welcome and greet guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Perform guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
- Verify guest details, identification, reservations, and payment information.
- Handle room reservations, cancellations, modifications, and inquiries.
- Provide guests with information about hotel facilities, restaurants, activities, services, and local attractions.
- Answer telephone calls, emails, and guest inquiries promptly.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and concerns professionally and coordinate with the relevant departments for resolution.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Security, and other departments to meet guest requirements.
- Maintain accurate guest records and update the hotel property-management system (PMS).
- Prepare and maintain front-office reports and records.
- Handle cash, credit-card payments, invoices, and other billing-related activities as required.
- Assist guests with luggage, transportation, wake-up calls, room changes, and other services when required.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information.
- Promote hotel facilities, room upgrades, packages, and other services when appropriate.
- Ensure the front desk and reception area are clean, organized, and presentable.
- Follow hotel policies, safety procedures, and service standards.
- Assist the Front Office Manager and other senior staff with daily operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in hotel/resort front office or guest services is an advantage.
- Positive verbal and written communication skills.




- Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of hotel PMS and reservation systems.
- Good computer skills, including MS Office and email.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to handle difficult situations and guest complaints calmly.
- Good problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Knowledge of English is essential; additional Indian or foreign languages can be an advantage.
