Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser

Job Summary:We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser with practical knowledge of garment construction, stitching, sampling, dyeing, and production. The candidate should be able to understand design concepts and effectively communicate garment details and construction techniques to the master ji, tailors, and production team.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute new garment designs according to the brand’s aesthetic and requirements.
- Prepare design concepts, sketches, and detailed garment specifications for sampling.
- Have good knowledge of garment construction, stitching, finishing, and fitting.
- Clearly explain garment designs, measurements, construction details, and stitching techniques to master ji and tailors.
- Coordinate and follow up on sampling and sample development from initial design to final approval.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure garments are made according to the approved design and specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors and production teams for fabric dyeing, printing, embroidery, trims, and other garment processes.
- Understand different fabrics, their properties, and suitable construction techniques.
- Monitor sample quality, fitting, finishing,



and overall garment appearance.
- Manage product development and merchandising activities, including material follow-ups and production timelines.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely availability of fabrics and trims.
- Maintain proper records of samples, measurements, fabrics, and production requirements.
- Ensure that final garments meet the required quality and design standards.

Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Fashion Designing, Apparel Designing, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in fashion designing, merchandising, or garment production.
- Strong knowledge of stitching, garment construction, sampling, and fitting.
- Practical understanding of fabric dyeing and garment finishing processes.
- Positive communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work closely with master ji, tailors, vendors, and production teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Knowledge of fashion trends and garment development will be an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-timeRole: Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
