Qualification: Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical / Tool & Die / Production/Metallurgy Engineering

Job Summary The Engineer in the NPD department supports end-to-end new product development activities for aluminium extrusion products — from initial concept and trial planning through to production handover — ensuring products meet design, quality, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute new product trials, including die trials, extrusion trials, and first-article inspections.
- Coordinate between Design, Programming, Tool Room, and Production teams for smooth NPD execution.
- Analyze trial results and troubleshoot issues related to die design, tooling, or process parameters.
- Prepare and maintain NPD project documentation — trial reports, process sheets, PPAP/APQP documents.
- Support die correction, modification, and re-trial cycles based on quality feedback.
- Ensure recent products meet dimensional, mechanical,



and surface finish requirements.
- Liaise with customers/internal quality teams for approvals and sign-offs on new products.
- Track NPD project timelines and report status to NPD Manager.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of aluminium extrusion process and die/tooling fundamentals.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, engineering drawings, and quality standards (PPAP/APQP is a plus).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for trial/process troubleshooting.
- Good coordination and documentation skills.
- Basic proficiency in CAD/MS Office for reporting and reviews.

Preferred

- Prior experience in an NPD/R&D; role within extrusion, die-casting, or tooling industries.
- Exposure to project management for new product launches.
