The successful candidate will facilitate communication, technical alignment, and collaboration between North American project teams and engineering partners in India while helping establish scalable engineering processes as the Mumbai office grows.The ideal candidate is an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in power generation facilities and a passion for building high-performing global engineering teams.LocationThe position will be based out of our office in the Powai area of Mumbai.ResponsibilitiesEngineering Coordination•
- Serve as the primary electrical engineering interface between Kiewits North American Industrial engineering teams and the Mumbai engineering office. •
- Coordinate daily engineering activities to ensure work is aligned with project priorities, schedules, and technical requirements. •
- Facilitate communication between engineering teams by resolving technical questions and ensuring timely decisions. •
- Coordinate engineering work packages and monitor progress against project milestones. •
- Build strong working relationships with engineers, project managers, and discipline leads across multiple offices.
Technical
Coordination•
- Support electrical engineering activities throughout project planning, design, and execution. •
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with Kiewit standards, client specifications, and applicable industry codes. •
- Coordinate technical reviews and assist in maintaining engineering quality throughout project execution. •
- Support engineering efforts involving: o Power generation electrical systems o Medium- and high-voltage power distribution o Generator systems o Auxiliary power systems o Motor control centers (MCCs) o Switchgear o Protective relaying o Grounding systems o Lighting systems o Cable routing and raceway design o Equipment layouts •
- Coordinate interfaces between electrical engineering and other disciplines including mechanical, civil, structural, controls, and piping.
Project
Execution•
- Monitor engineering progress and proactively identify schedule or resource constraints. •
- Assist project leadership with planning and coordination of globally distributed engineering work. •
- Escalate technical issues and execution risks to appropriate engineering leadership. •
- Participate in engineering coordination meetings across multiple time zones. •
- Support implementation of engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. QualificationsRequired Qualifications•
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting industrial EPC projects. •
Experience coordinating engineering work across multiple offices or engineering organizations. •
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, commonly found in Industrial facilities. •
Experience with one or more of the following: o Data Centers o Advanced Tech o Mission Critical Facilities o Mining/Mineral Processing •
- Familiarity with North American electrical engineering standards and industry codes. •
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. •
- Solid organizational, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills. •
- Ability to work effectively across different cultures and time zones.
Preferred
Qualifications•
- Previous experience supporting North American EPC projects. •
Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams. •
- Familiarity with SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar electrical system analysis software. •
Experience with SmartPlant, AVEVA, AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering design platforms. •
- Knowledge of IEEE, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, NEMA, and CSA electrical standards.
