Role & responsibilities The Team Teacher supports the Mother Teacher in creating a safe, warm, engaging, and well-organised learning environment for young children. The role includes supporting teaching and learning, classroom routines, behaviour guidance, childcare, play-based learning, circle time, supervision, and documentation of childrens development through regular observations and anecdotal records.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Teaching and Learning Support

- Assist the Mother Teacher in lesson delivery and classroom learning activities.
- Support children during whole-class, small-group, and individual learning experiences.
- Assist during carpet time teaching and help children remain engaged, attentive, and involved.
- Support children in completing tasks with confidence and growing independence.

2. Classroom Management and Learning Environment

- Help maintain a protected, organised, child-friendly, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Prepare and arrange learning spaces, teaching aids, classroom displays, and activity corners.
- Support smooth classroom routines and transitions between activities.
- Ensure the classroom remains orderly and ready for learning.

3. Behaviour Management

- Support the Mother Teacher in managing student behaviour in a calm, consistent, and developmentally appropriate manner.
- Implement the schools Behaviour for Learning Policy across classroom routines, transitions, carpet time, circle time, play spaces, and group activities.
- Reinforce positive behaviour, self-regulation, respectful interactions, and routine-following.
- Observe behaviour patterns and report concerns or incidents to the Mother Teacher in a timely manner.

4. Circle Time Leadership and Support

- Lead Morning connect and Literacy Hindi as assigned in the TT, after successful training, modelling and induction.
- Conduct songs, rhymes, greetings, story-sharing, discussions, and reflection routines meaningfully.




- Support the Mother Teacher in creating a safe and inclusive environment where every child feels seen, heard, and encouraged to participate.

5. Play Facilitation in the Kilo Room

- Under the guidance of the Mother Teacher, facilitate both structured play and free play in a safe, purposeful, and engaging manner.
- Encourage exploration, imagination, communication, problem-solving, and peer interaction during play.

6. Observation and Anecdotal Records

- Maintain clear anecdotal records of children while they are engaged in structured and free play.
- Record observations related to participation, behaviour, communication, interests, and social interaction.
- Assist in gathering evidence of children’s learning and development for documentation and reporting.

7. Student Care, Safety, and Supervision

- Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, dispersal, movement time, outdoor play, and transitions.
- Ensure the safety, hygiene, and well-being of children at all times.
- Support children in developing self-help skills, independence, and appropriate social habits.
- Remain alert to the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of children through the day.

8. Parent and Teacher Support

- Communicate relevant child observations, concerns, and updates to the Mother Teacher regularly.
- Assist in preparing materials, records, and documentation for PTMs, classroom sharing, and school events.
- Support the Mother Teacher in strengthening the teacher-parent-child partnership.
- Participate in parent meetings and school events as assigned.

Documentation and Administrative Support

- Help prepare worksheets, manipulatives, classroom resources, and activity materials.
- Support in maintaining attendance records, student work, classroom files, and documentation.
- Assist in organising children’s portfolios, display boards, and evidence of learning.
- Ensure teaching-learning materials are ready and available for classroom use.

10. Professional Conduct and Team Contribution

- Work collaboratively and respectfully with the Mother Teacher and other staff members.
- Attend all grade level meetings (subject specific /pastoral) , upskilling workshops and professional development programmes as required.
- Demonstrate punctuality, responsibility, initiative, and a positive attitude in all assigned duties.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a child-centred approach at all times.
- Be open to feedback and continuously improve classroom practice and support strategies.

11. Language and Communication

- Use positive, respectful, and encouraging language while interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Be mindful of tone, facial expressions, and body language at all times, ensuring they reflect warmth, patience, and professionalism.

• Model appropriate language and communication skills for children to support their social and emotional development.

Duties and School Responsibilities

- Perform duties beyond classroom teaching as assigned, including bus duty, dispersal duty, and supervision during arrival and departure.
- Support and actively participate in school events, celebrations, and special programmes.
- Assist during field trips, excursions, and outdoor learning experiences, ensuring student safety, engagement, and well-being.

• Contribute to the overall functioning of the school by taking on additional responsibilities as required from time to time.
