About the Prospect A leading manufacturer specializing in industrial packaging solutions, steel pallets, automated warehouse (ASRS) fixtures, and heavy structural fabrication is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Design Engineer. This role involves designing and developing custom storage, transport, and material handling systems tailored for automotive OEMs, retail chains, and industrial logistics.

Key Responsibilities

- Product Design & Modeling: Design and model 2D/3D concepts for material handling equipment, including:
- Returnable (RSR) and Expendable (ESR) steel packaging racks.
- Engine racks, press shop & stamping pallets, and two-wheeler export crates.
- Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) compatible pallets and wire-mesh containers.
- Retail storage fixtures (promotional bins, roll cages) and heavy fabricated structures.
- Component & Liner Integration: Incorporate protective linings (PU, Nylon, UHMW, PP, HDPE, rubber) into steel rack designs to safeguard automotive and delicate components during transport.
- Fabrication & Production Drawings: Prepare accurate General Arrangement (GA) drawings, manufacturing drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and cutting plans compliant with sheet metal and structural fabrication standards.




- Tolerancing & Fitment: Ensure high precision, tight dimensional tolerances, and structural integrity required for automated robotic lines, forklifts, and ASRS warehouse interfaces.
- Design Optimization: Maximize container packing density for export shipments while maintaining safety factors and load-bearing requirements.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with the production, welding (EN 15085 standards), quality, and tool room teams during prototyping, pilot builds, and mass manufacturing.
- Customer Requirement Translation: Review customer/OEM technical specifications, packaging guidelines, and CAD data to provide viable design solutions.

Key Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Automobile Engineering.
- Experience: 1–4 years of experience in sheet metal design, steel fabrication, or industrial packaging/material handling fixtures.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or Inventor).
- Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of sheet metal forming, structural steel (tubes/channels), stamping, and welding processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and BOM generation.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking, space-optimization mindset, and eye for detail.

Pay: ₹11,413.42 - ₹45,784.35 per month
