We are looking for an experienced Factory Cost Accountant with strong knowledge of cost accounting, factory costing, inventory management and financial analysis. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring manufacturing costs, inventory movements, stock valuation, cost control and providing accurate costing reports to management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Factory Costing
- Prepare and monitor product-wise and process-wise costing.
- Analyse material, labour, overhead and production costs.
- Monitor actual cost versus standard/budgeted cost.
- Identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Support management in cost reduction and cost-control initiatives.
2. Inventory Management
- Monitor raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock reconciliation.
- Conduct and coordinate periodic physical stock verification.
- Analyse inventory variances and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Ensure proper inventory valuation as per applicable accounting practices.
3. MIS & Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly factory costing and inventory reports.
- Provide cost and inventory MIS to management.
- Analyse production cost, consumption and inventory trends.
- Prepare variance analysis and management reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
4. Accounting & Audit Support
- Coordinate with Accounts, Purchase, Production and Stores departments.
- Verify material consumption and production-related expenses.
- Assist in month-end closing and inventory valuation.
- Provide necessary information and supporting documents for statutory/internal audits.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Cost Accounting and Factory Costing.
- Good understanding of Inventory Management and Stock Valuation.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost structures.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Ability to identify cost variances and inventory discrepancies.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Qualification: Cost Accountant / CMA.
- Experience: 4–5 years in Cost Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing/factory setting.
- Hands-on experience in factory costing and inventory management will be preferred.
- Candidates from manufacturing industries with strong costing exposure are encouraged to apply.
Compensation
Salary: Up to ₹8.00 Lacs Per Annum, depending on experience, qualification and suitability.
