Role & responsibilities

Planning & Execution

- Supervise construction of concrete gravity dams, embankment dams, spillways, canals, and appurtenant structures
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Prepare and monitor construction schedules and method statements
- Ensure work execution as per approved designs and contract specifications

Quality Control & Safety

- Ensure quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) for concrete, earthwork, and reinforcement
- Conduct material inspections and testing (concrete, aggregates, soil, rock)
- Enforce safety standards and statutory compliance at site
- Implement environmental protection measures during construction

Coordination & Reporting

- Coordinate with design consultants, surveyors, QA/QC team, safety officers, and subcontractors
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
- Assist in measurement, billing, and certification of work
- Handle technical issues and site challenges efficiently





Technical & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with IS codes, IRC, BIS, CWC guidelines, and dam safety norms
- Support inspections by authorities and third-party auditors
- Participate in trial mixes, mock-ups, and inspections

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of dam engineering and hydraulic structures
- Expertise in mass concrete, RCC, earthwork, and foundation treatment
- Familiarity with grouting, drilling, and slope stabilization
- Proficiency in AutoCAD / Primavera / MS Project (preferred)
- Valuable communication and coordination skills

Preferred Experience

- Experience in large dam, irrigation, or water resource projects
- Exposure to roller-compacted concrete (RCC) dams is an advantage
- Experience working with government or international-funded projects
