- Job PurposeTo manage day-to-day cash, UPI and banking transactions accurately, maintain proper records and reconciliations, support policy-related payment activities, and assist the Accounts team with routine accounting and banking operations. The person will be responsible for ensuring that all collections, payments, refunds, cash balances and banking transactions are properly recorded, verified and reported. 2.
Key Responsibilities A. Cash &
- CustomerCollections · Record all customer collections accurately in the Sales Point Tracker . · Verify cash and UPI payments received from customers against the applicable policy premium. · Maintain daily opening and closing cash balances . · Provide the required change to walk-in customers when the amount collected differs from the policy premium. · Ensure all cash transactions are properly recorded and supported by appropriate receipts/records. · Hand over the day’s cash collections to management as per the established process. · Maintain proper accountability for cash handled during the day. Payment &
- Issuance Support · Make Net Banking payments required for policy issuance as instructed. · Verify payment details, policy codes and amounts before processing transactions. · Check and reconcile any difference between the amount collected and the amount reflected in the cash/payment sheet after policy issuance. · In case of delays in policy issuance due to portal, network or system issues, ensure receipts are issued to customers and proper records are maintained. · Maintain records of cancelled policies and document the reasons for cancellation. - Payment Processing · Process customer refunds/change through IMPS for applicable online transactions. · Verify beneficiary/payment details before processing refunds. · Follow up on pending or unsuccessful payment transactions and ensure timely resolution. · Process salary payments for employees under the designated management account, based on approved instructions. - Outstanding Payment Follow-up · Verify agent payments received against the relevant policies/transactions. · Track pending or outstanding agent payments. · Follow up with agents regarding payments due. · Maintain an updated record of outstanding amounts and payment status. · Escalate long-pending or mismatched payments to management/accounts team. - Accounting Support · Regularly check bank balances and banking transactions. · Share daily/periodic bank balance updates and bank statements with management and the Accounts team. · Perform basic bank reconciliation between bank transactions and internal records. · Verify receipts, payments, transfers and other banking entries for accuracy. · Assist the Accounts team with basic accounting entries, transaction verification and supporting documentation. · Maintain proper records of cash, bank, UPI, IMPS and other payment transactions. · Identify and report discrepancies in cash, bank or transaction records immediately. Security &
- Compliance · Ensure banking credentials and passwords are updated within the specified period as per internal security requirements. · Maintain confidentiality of banking and financial information. · Follow internal authorization procedures for payments, refunds and transfers. · Ensure no payment is processed without proper approval or supporting documentation. · Immediately report any suspicious, incorrect or unauthorized transaction to management.
Summary of Primary KPI’s: · 100% of collections receipted and recorded on the same working day. · Closing cash variance of ₹0, with every variance reported before handover. · 100% transaction-to-policy and transaction-to-UTR mapping. · Daily cash, bank and UPI reconciliation completed by the prescribed cutoff. · No payment or refund processed without documented approval. · No self-approved or self-reconciled financial transaction. · All unresolved discrepancies escalated on the same working day. · No unauthorized use or sharing of credentials, customer data or financial information. · Complete audit trail and supporting documents for every transaction.
Qualification: · B.Com / BBA / BBM / equivalent commerce or finance qualification preferred. · Candidates with relevant practical experience in cashier roles will be give higher preference.
Experience: · 1–3 years of experience in Cashier, Accounts Executive, Banking Operations or a similar role preferred. · Experience handling cash + UPI + bank transactions will be an advantage.
Experience in insurance, financial services, retail or service organisation will be preferred.
