Role Description The Carpet Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing rug designs that align with the brand’s aesthetic, material standards, and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include creating design concepts, sketching patterns, selecting color palettes, and preparing detailed design specifications for production.

The role involves collaborating closely with in-house design teams, artisan weavers, and client-facing teams to ensure that designs are both visually compelling and technically feasible.

The Carpet

Designer will participate in sampling and prototyping, review woven samples,



and refine designs based on feedback from stakeholders. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Jaipur.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in textile or surface design, including pattern development, color theory, and composition.
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop , or NedGraphics Texcelle software ) for creating and refining rug layouts.
- Understanding of weaving techniques (hand knotted, hand tufted, flat weave) and their implications for design and production.
- Ability to translate client briefs and architectural concepts into explicit, workable design proposals.
- Attention to detail in preparing technical drawings, color charts, and production-ready artwork.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with artisans, internal teams, and external partners.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects, meet deadlines, and respond constructively to feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Textile Design, Carpet Design, Interior Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in rug, textile, or interior product design is highly beneficial; familiarity with global design trends is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Jaipur and engage directly with workshop and production environments.
