Business Analyst - Payments

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst - Payments to lead functional analysis and delivery for payment platforms covering OPF, ARIC, and SEPA payment flows.

The ideal candidate will have robust knowledge of payment processing, functional requirements, exception handling, reconciliation, and payment lifecycle management.

The role involves working closely with business, operations, and technical teams to translate business requirements into functional solutions and ensure successful delivery across the payment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :

- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for payment processes.
- Lead functional analysis across OPF, ARIC, and SEPA payment flows.
- Prepare detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, and process documentation.
- Analyze and document end-to-end payment lifecycle, including payment initiation, processing, settlement, and exceptions.
- Support payment platform configuration and validate functional processes against business requirements.
- Define and analyze exception handling and reconciliation processes.
- Work with technical teams to clarify functional requirements and support solution design.
- Coordinate and support SIT and UAT, including test scenario preparation, execution, defect analysis, and resolution.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations, technology teams,



and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to payment workflows and operational processes.
- Support production readiness, implementation, and post-production validation when required.

Key Skills & Expertise :

- Strong experience in Business Analysis / Functional Analysis within the payments domain.
- Hands-on knowledge of OPF, ARIC, and SEPA payment flows.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end payment lifecycle.
- Knowledge of exception handling and reconciliation processes.
- Understanding of ISO 20022 standards and SEPA payment schemes.
- Experience in preparing functional specifications and process documentation.
- Strong experience in SIT/UAT and functional testing.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with business, operations, and technical teams.

Preferred Experience :

- Experience working on banking and payment transformation projects.
- Exposure to payment processing platforms and European payment schemes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently drive requirements from analysis through implementation.
