- Bal Raksha Bharat (also known as Save the Children) is Indias leading independent child rights organisation, working across Health Nutrition, Education, Child Protection and Livelihood Economic Wellbeing.
Project Brief:
The Urban Flagship Programme establishes safe, inclusive and enabling Urban Flagship Centres and extends integrated services into catchment communities, connecting children, adolescents, youth and families to education, health and nutrition, protection, skilling, livelihoods, government services and community-led solutions.
The Centre provides age-appropriate services including career counselling, 21st-century skills, vocational/certification support and linkages with training institutes, employers and other opportunities.
Role Purpose:
Plan and facilitate skilling, career awareness and employability activities for adolescents and young people, while supporting referrals and linkages to relevant training, certification, education, employment and livelihood opportunities.
Role and responsibilities:
- Conduct needs and interest assessments for adolescents and youth.
- Deliver structured sessions on 21st-century skills, career awareness, employability and work readiness.
- Facilitate orientation on vocational courses, certification, and education-to-employment and self-employment pathways.
- Map relevant government schemes, training institutes, certification providers, employers and livelihood opportunities.
- Support young people to identify suitable pathways and facilitate referrals/linkages.
- Maintain participant profiles, attendance, referrals, and enrolment and outcome records in MIS.
- Coordinate career counselling, exposure visits, guest sessions and mentoring opportunities.
- Mobilise adolescents and youth through community outreach with the Community Volunteer.
- Ensure gender-responsive, disability-inclusive and safe participation.
- Capture participant feedback, learning and case studies with consent.
- Submit work plans and timely activity/MIS reports.
- Undertake other programme-related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
This role will also engage in overall planning and execution of the project activities with coordination with the team with support from Project lead.
Any other work assigned by Project Lead.
Measures of performance:
- Number and quality of skilling, career and employability sessions delivered.
- Participation and retention of adolescents/youth.
- Quality and number of referrals/linkages to training, education, employment and livelihood opportunities.
- Timely and accurate MIS and documentation.
- Participant feedback and facilitation quality.
- Safeguarding, GESI and data-protection compliance.

Candidate specification:
Experience
Minimum 0-3 years in skilling, career counselling, Project management /employability, vocational training or youth development.
Experience with adolescents/youth is preferred.
Essential Qualification
Graduate degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Development Studies, Management, Vocational Education or relevant discipline.
Career counselling/skilling certification is an asset.

Either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a regulated position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore, a police check will be required.

The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
