We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Assistant Manager Purchase (Mechanical) to manage the procurement of mechanical spare parts, equipment, consumables, and engineering materials for ethanol/distillery plant operations. The candidate will be responsible for vendor development, sourcing, negotiation, purchase planning, cost optimization, and ensuring timely availability of materials for uninterrupted plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:-

- Manage procurement of mechanical spare parts equipment, consumables, and engineering materials for ethanol/distillery plant operations.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for mechanical and engineering requirements.
- Source materials, obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, negotiate prices, and finalize vendors.
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements and company procurement procedures.
- Handle procurement of pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, pipelines, fabrication items, bearings, compressors, utility equipment, and other mechanical components.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, Stores, and Plant teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely procurement.
- Monitor purchase orders and coordinate with vendors for timely delivery, quality, and specifications.
- Ensure availability of critical mechanical spares to support uninterrupted plant operations.
- Monitor inventory and stock levels in coordination with the Stores and Maintenance teams.
- Maintain proper purchase records, vendor database, quotations, comparative statements, POs, and procurement documentation.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, alternate sourcing, and vendor optimization.




- Ensure procurement activities are aligned with approved budgets and purchase plans.
- Resolve vendor-related issues related to price, quality, delivery, specifications, and payment coordination.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, approval processes, and applicable safety and quality standards.
- Prepare periodic MIS and procurement reports for management review.

Technical & Functional Skills

- Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and spare parts used in ethanol/distillery plants.
- Strong understanding of industrial procurement and sourcing processes.
- Good vendor development, negotiation, and commercial evaluation skills.
- Knowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, compressors, bearings, pipelines, fabrication, and utility equipment.
- Working knowledge of ERP/SAP procurement modules will be preferred.
- Positive knowledge of MS Excel, comparative statements, MIS, and procurement reporting.
- Ability to read and understand basic technical specifications, drawings, and equipment requirements.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.

Qualification

- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering Mandatory.
- MBA / PG Diploma / Certification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Materials Management will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 4-6 years of relevant experience in mechanical procurement/purchase.
- Experience in ethanol, distillery, chemical, manufacturing, process plant, or similar industrial environments will be preferred.
