Job Title: Arc Welder – LPG & PNG Pipeline

Industry: LPG / PNG / City Gas Distribution / Oil & Gas

Key Responsibilities

- Perform SMAW/Arc welding on carbon-steel LPG and PNG pipelines, fittings, supports and related structures.
- Carry out pipe fit-up, tack welding, root, filling and capping as per approved WPS and drawings.
- Read and understand isometric drawings, welding symbols and pipeline specifications.
- Prepare pipe edges, clean joints and select the correct electrodes and welding parameters.
- Ensure welds meet required quality standards and project specifications.
- Perform grinding, dressing and correction of weld defects when instructed.
- Coordinate with pipe fitters, supervisors and QC inspectors during pipeline work.
- Assist with weld inspection, NDT and pressure-testing activities.
- Maintain welding machines, cables, electrode holders, grinders and other tools in safe working condition.
- Follow PTW, hot-work permit, PPE, toolbox-talk and site HSE requirements.
- Take special precautions while working around LPG/PNG systems because of the risk of flammable gas.

For gas pipelines in India,



welders and welding procedures are generally required to meet the applicable qualification requirements such as API 1104, with station piping potentially covered by API 1104 or ASME Section IX depending on the application. PPNGRB+1 Qualification & Experience

- ITI Welder / Welder (Gas & Electric) preferred.
- Typically 2–5 years' experience in pipeline, LPG, PNG, oil & gas or industrial fabrication.
- Experience in SMAW/ARC welding is essential.
- Pipeline welding qualification such as 6G, where required by the project, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of welding electrodes, joint preparation, welding positions and basic drawings.
- Physically fit and willing to work at project/site locations.
