About the Role

We are building a specialised business advisory and diagnostic practice for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), farmer collectives and rural/agri enterprises.

We are looking for an Agriculture & Rural Enterprise Business Associate who understands agriculture and rural businesses and is interested in going beyond conventional project implementation.

The role involves understanding how rural enterprises actually work, identifying business and operational challenges, analysing their root causes, and helping management develop practical solutions for growth and profitability.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to move from “project execution” to “business problem-solving.”

What You Will Do

- Understand the business model, operations, markets, customers, suppliers and value chains of FPOs and rural enterprises.
- Conduct structured discussions with FPO management, directors, employees, farmers, customers and other stakeholders.
- Undertake field visits to understand the gap between what is reported and what is actually happening on the ground.
- Analyse procurement, aggregation, processing, trading, sales and other business activities.
- Study market, customer, competitor and value-chain dynamics.
- Review business and operational information and identify key performance gaps.
- Work with financial and business data to understand revenue, margins, costs, working capital and profitability.
- Identify symptoms,



root causes and their business consequences.
- Contribute to structured business diagnostic assignments.
- Prepare field findings, analysis, presentations and diagnostic reports.
- Support development of practical 12-month business improvement and growth plans.
- Work closely with a Business/Data Analyst to connect field realities with business numbers.

Ideal Candidate

- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Background in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Management, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, MBA/PGDM or a related field.
- Experience working with FPOs, farmer collectives, agri-businesses, value chains or rural enterprises.
- Good understanding of agricultural markets and rural business ecosystems.
- Strong communication and interviewing skills.
- Positive report-writing and documentation skills.
- Comfortable working with Excel and business data.
- Ability to understand basic financial and operational information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to travel for field assignments.
- Comfortable working independently as well as as part of a small consulting team.

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
