Position Overview: Accounts Executive will manage comprehensive accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities while leading accounting processes and supporting junior staff in a Chennai-based organization.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Accounting &
- Reporting · Prepare and maintain books of accounts including general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and trial balance · Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as per Indian GAAP · Handle journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and month-end closing procedures · Prepare bank reconciliation statements and manage cash flow analysis · Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation schedules Accounts Payable &
- Receivable Management · Process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment authorizations · Manage supplier payments, vendor reconciliations, and aging analysis · Handle customer invoicing, collection follow-ups, and receivables management · Coordinate with sales team for revenue recognition and billing queries · Maintain creditor and debtor aging reports and collection strategies Taxation &
- Compliance · Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9) within statutory deadlines · Handle TDS calculations, deductions, and quarterly/annual TDS returns · Manage income tax assessments, advance tax payments, and IT return filing · Ensure compliance with Tamil Nadu state taxes and local regulations · Coordinate with tax consultants and statutory auditors Payroll &
- Statutory Compliance · Process monthly payroll including salary calculations, deductions, and reimbursements · Handle PF (Provident Fund), ESI, and professional tax computations and payments · Manage employee loan accounts, advance recoveries, and final settlements · Prepare Form 16, salary certificates, and other employee documentation · Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements Cost Accounting &
- Analysis · Analyze cost centers, profit centers, and departmental performance · Prepare cost sheets, variance analysis,
and profitability reports · Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide variance explanations · Support management with costing decisions and pricing strategies · Maintain inventory valuation and stock movement records Banking &
- Treasury Operations · Manage daily banking operations, fund transfers, and cash management · Handle letter of credit, bank guarantees, and trade finance documentation · Monitor foreign exchange transactions and currency fluctuations · Coordinate with banks for loan documentation and compliance requirements · Maintain banking relationships and negotiate banking terms Audit &
- Internal Controls · Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors during audit processes · Prepare audit working papers, schedules, and supporting documentation · Implement internal control procedures and compliance monitoring · Handle audit queries, management letter responses, and corrective actions · Ensure proper documentation and audit trail maintenance MIS &
- Financial Analysis · Prepare management information system (MIS) reports for senior management · Generate cash flow statements, fund flow analysis, and financial ratios · Provide financial analysis and insights for business decision-making · Create dashboards and KPI reports for operational performance · Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities System &
- Process Management · Operate accounting software (Tally ERP, Zoho Books etc.,) · Maintain chart of accounts, cost centers, and accounting configurations · Implement process improvements and automation initiatives · Handle data backup, security protocols,
and system maintenance · Coordinate with IT team for software updates and technical support Required Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in commerce (B.Com) with specialization in Accounting/Finance · Professional qualifications: CA (Inter), CMA (Inter), or equivalent preferred · 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in Indian corporate workplace · Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and taxation laws · Proficiency in accounting software (Tally ERP 9, SAP, Oracle) Essential Skills: · Advanced knowledge of GST, TDS, income tax, and corporate compliance · Expertise in financial statement preparation and analysis · Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities · Excellent communication skills in English and Tamil · Leadership and team management abilities Key Performance Indicators: · Timely closure of monthly accounts (within 5 working days) · Zero penalties for statutory compliance and tax filings · Accurate financial reporting with minimal audit adjustments · Effective cash flow management and collection efficiency · Team productivity and professional development metrics Compensation &
