Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) Engineer - Technology - 6-8 Years - PuneSummary

We are looking for a hands-on HCI Engineer with 6-8 years of experience across infrastructure engineering, embedded systems or hardware certification. The role requires strong expertise in Linux, Kubernetes, compute, storage, networking and CI/CD environments. The ideal candidate will take end-to-end ownership of build management, hardware validation and infrastructure engineering while delivering reliable, enterprise-ready HCI solutions.

Responsibilities

- Maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines for HCI software components.
- Troubleshooting build failures and ensuring build reliability and availability.
- Performing vulnerability scans and integrating security checks into build processes.
- Validating HCI platforms across server, storage and network hardware vendors.
- Performing interoperability, firmware compatibility, compliance and performance testing.
- Enhancing HCI infrastructure across compute, storage and networking layers.
- Developing and optimising high-performance I/O paths, storage acceleration and networking offloads.
- Integrating custom hardware with Kubernetes through CRDs, CSI/CNI drivers and Operators.
- Implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible or Pulumi.
- Supporting QA, product and support teams in troubleshooting, PoCs and customer-facing validation.
- Maintaining technical documentation and contributing to architecture and design reviews.
- Ensuring quality code through unit, integration and automation test coverage.

Requirements





- Holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Bringing 6+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, embedded systems or hardware certification.
- Demonstrating solid programming skills in C, C++, Go and Shell scripting.
- Having strong Linux expertise including kernel internals, performance tuning and driver development.
- Demonstrating hands-on Kubernetes expertise across CSI/CNI drivers, Operators, Helm and container runtimes.
- Having experience with storage technologies including NVMe, NVMe-oF, iSCSI, Fibre Channel and distributed storage.
- Having networking expertise across VLANs, SDN, SR-IOV, DPDK and NIC offloads.
- Demonstrating experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Terraform or Pulumi.
- Having experience with PCIe devices, BIOS/UEFI, firmware upgrades and BMC/iLO/iDRAC.
- Being familiar with debugging and security tools such as GDB, JTAG, Snyk, Trivy and SonarQube.
- Possessing strong communication and mentoring skills for cross-functional collaboration.
