The Opportunity: Purchasing Power, one of Atlanta’s fastest growing e-retailers is seeking a Software Development Manager to join our team in Chennai, India. As a Software Development Manager, you will be collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, driving innovation through modern engineering practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will also mentor team members, manage project timelines, and ensure successful delivery under dynamic and challenging conditions.

What You Will Do:

- Oversee software engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure applications aligned with business objectives.

- Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.





- Provide technical leadership in designing robust web application architectures and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies.

- Implement coding standards, automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to maintain low defect rates and high performance.

- Work closely with product managers, QA, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Coach team members, foster a culture of learning, and promote qualified growth within the engineering team.

- Conduct performance tuning, debugging, and profiling to ensure applications meet reliability and efficiency benchmarks.

- Adapt to evolving requirements, mitigate risks, and maintain delivery under pressure or unexpected changes. Stay updated on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), messaging systems (Kafka, Tibco), and automation tools to enhance system capabilities.

- Encourage continuous improvement and adoption of modern engineering practices to drive organizational success.

The Experience You Will Bring:

- Robust Software design Skills

- Strong experience in web application architecture

- Strong experience in JAVA, Spring/Spring Boot/Spring Batch

- Strong hands on experience building microservices with Spring Boot

- Experience with Cloud/AWS or Azure technologies

- Experience with Messaging (e.g. Tibco, Kafka or Azure Service Bus)

- Process and tools to produce well written low defect rate code





- Experience with Java performance tuning, debugging, and profiling tools

- Experience of collaboration tools (e.g. Lightspeed enterprise, Bitbucket, GHE (GitHUB Enterprise), Harness etc)

- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit5 and Cucumber

Soft Skills:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Attention to detail

- Self-Motivated and willingness to learn as well as contribute to the wider team
