About the RoleWe are looking for a Technical Tender & UAV Engineer to join our Government, Defence and UAV business team.

The role will work closely with the Tender, System Engineering, Procurement and Business teams and will be responsible for understanding technical tender requirements, assessing UAV/system feasibility, identifying suitable architectures and components, preparing preliminary BOMs and technical compliance documents, and ensuring timely completion of technical inputs for bids.

This role is ideal for an engineer with a good understanding of UAV/drone systems who wants to develop expertise in Government and Defence tendering. The candidate should be comfortable working with technical specifications, datasheets, BOMs and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Study and analyse Government, Defence, PSU, GeM and enterprise tenders, particularly UAV/drone and technology-related requirements.
- Read and interpret detailed technical specifications, ATS, eligibility criteria and compliance requirements.
- Break down tender specifications into clear technical requirements and prepare requirement-wise compliance matrices.
- Assess whether IZI's existing technologies, components and system architectures can meet the tender requirements.
- Identify suitable UAV configurations, components, payloads and subsystem combinations for specific requirements.
- Prepare preliminary technical BOMs based on tender specifications and proposed system architecture.
- Review previous BOMs, technical documents,



datasheets and tender submissions to identify relevant configurations and solutions.
- Identify technical gaps, deviations and requirements that require validation from the System Engineering/R&D; team.
- Coordinate with System Engineers for technical feasibility, architecture validation and technical clarifications.
- Coordinate with Procurement/Technical Sourcing teams for component availability, pricing, lead time, Country of Origin and supplier information.
- Support preparation of technical bids, compliance statements, technical specifications, datasheets and other tender documentation.
- Support pre-bid queries, technical clarifications, corrigenda and post-submission technical requirements.
- Maintain a structured repository of technical tender requirements, BOMs, component specifications, datasheets, test reports and previous bid references.
- Research UAV platforms, payloads, communication systems, GNSS/RTK, cameras, batteries, propulsion and other relevant technologies.
- Ensure all technical inputs are completed accurately and within tender timelines.
- Work as the technical bridge between the Tender, Engineering and Procurement teams and actively drive pending technical inputs to closure.

Requirements

- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Embedded Systems or a related engineering discipline.
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in UAV/drone engineering, systems integration, technical engineering, tender support or a related field.
- Good understanding of UAV/drone architecture and major subsystems.
- Ability to understand technical specifications, datasheets and engineering documentation.
- Experience or familiarity with BOM preparation and component-level evaluation.
- Robust analytical and documentation skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to work with multiple teams and manage time-sensitive deliverables.
