ECS undertakes Substation projects upto 400 kV and other Power Projects on Tunrkey EPC basis. ECS focuses on delivering reliable, efficient, and future-ready solutions for complex power and energy projects.

Role Description This is a full-time, Substation Design Engineer role based in India.

The Substation Design

Engineer will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering designs and layouts for HV and MV substations, including single-line diagrams, Layout & Section, DSLP, Earthing, SCF, other sizing calc, equipment specifications, cable schedules, and protection schemes. The role involves coordinating with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements, regulatory standards, and client specifications. Daily activities include performing technical calculations, reviewing drawings, supporting cost estimates, and participating in design reviews and approvals. The engineer will also assist in resolving design-related issues during project execution,



support field teams with engineering clarifications, and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and templates.

Qualifications

- Robust substation design and power systems engineering skills, including HV/MV/HT/LT installations, protection schemes, and equipment selection.
- Experience in substations upto 400 kV including Layout & Section, SLD, SCF, Sizing Calc, DSLP, Earthing, Cable schedule, Etc.
- Proficiency in relevant design and drafting tools (e.g., CAD software) and familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Ability to perform technical studies, conceptual design, estimating, and detailed engineering for substation projects.
- Effective project coordination and documentation skills, including communication with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in renewable energy, energy storage systems, or EV infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management abilities, with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
