nRole Overview

nWe are looking for an experienced SAP Workflow Consultant to design, build, enhance, and support approval and automation processes across SAP S/4HANA modules.

nThe role involves strong hands-on experience in custom workflows, approval logic, agent determination, event linkage, workflow troubleshooting, deadline monitoring, escalation rules, Fiori My Inbox, and migration toward SAP Build Process Automation.

nThe selected candidate will take end-to-end ownership of workflow design, build, optimization, troubleshooting, and permanent defect resolution while ensuring approval processes run efficiently without unnecessary manual intervention.

nKey Responsibilities

nDevelop and enhance custom workflows and approval logic across finance, procurement, and logistics processes

nConfigure events, tasks, Business Object Repository objects, and rules for dynamic agent determination

nAutomate and optimize workflow processes across modules and eliminate manual approval steps wherever applicable

nDebug and resolve complex workflow execution issues including stuck work items and agent determination failures

nAnalyze and clear workflow error queues and implement permanent fixes for recurring failures

nSupport migration of classic SAP workflows to Fiori My Inbox and SAP Build Process Automation

nBuild and maintain deadline monitoring, escalation, and substitution rules

nPrepare unit and functional test evidence for every workflow transport

nSupport UAT and conduct end-user training on approval processes





nMaintain workflow documentation, agent matrices, and runbooks

nEnsure approval workflows remain stable, scalable, and operational across the S/4HANA landscape

nRequired / Mandatory Skills

nStrong hands-on experience in SAP Business Workflow build and support

nStrong expertise in Workflow Builder, Tasks, Events, BOR, and class-based objects

nStrong experience in agent determination using rules, organizational structure, and custom function modules

nGood ABAP skills to write and debug workflow classes, methods, and function modules

nStrong live troubleshooting experience for stuck work items and workflow failures

nHands-on knowledge of SWI1, SWEL, SWU3, and SWPR

nStrong understanding of event linkage and agent determination failures

nExperience analyzing workflow error queues and safely reprocessing failed work items

nExperience in deadline monitoring, escalation, and substitution rules

nGood understanding of at least one approval-intensive business process end to end, such as:

nExperience in unit testing, functional testing, UAT, and workflow transport validation

nExperience maintaining workflow documentation, agent matrices, and runbooks

nStrong problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis capability in live production environments

nPreferred / Valuable-to-Have Skills

nExperience with SAP Build Process Automation

nExposure to Workflow Management on SAP BTP

nExperience in Fiori My Inbox configuration and extension

nExposure to OpenText VIM Workflow

nExperience migrating classic SAP workflows to modern Fiori / BTP-based workflow solutions

nPreferred Certifications

nSAP Business Workflow Advanced Configuration Training

nSAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP for SAP S/4HANA
