QUALITY ASSURANCE AUTOMATION ENGINEER - AI-ENABLED QA

n ABOUT THE ROLE

n Pupiltree.ai is looking for a hands-on Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to improve quality across our applications and websites. You will combine thoughtful manual testing, deterministic automation, and AI-based testing capabilities to create a reliable and continuously improving QA system.

n This is an ownership role. During the initial 2-3 month project, you will test active products while building the automated suites, CI/CD quality gates, AI-assisted workflows, documentation, and operating processes that our team can continue to improve.

n WORKING ARRANGEMENT - PLEASE READ

n This is a compulsory on-site position in Ballari (Bellary), Karnataka. It is not a remote or hybrid role. Food and accommodation are provided for the duration of the project. Specific arrangements will be explained during the hiring process.

n The role begins as a 2-3 month contract/project engagement. A full-time opportunity may be considered afterward based on performance, mutual fit, business requirements, and ongoing workload. Conversion is not guaranteed.

n WHAT YOU WILL DO

n • Audit our applications, websites, environments, release processes, and current test coverage.

n • Build a risk-based test strategy for critical user journeys.

n • Perform exploratory, functional, regression, cross-browser, responsive, API, integration, and release testing.

n • Create clear test cases, acceptance criteria, release checklists, and reproducible defect reports.

n • Strengthen unit, API, integration, and end-to-end coverage with the development team.

n • Build maintainable automated browser and API tests using suitable modern frameworks.

n • Integrate smoke, regression, API,



and end-to-end tests into CI/CD.

n • Incorporate AI-based automated testing into the QA suite using LLMs and/or testing agents where they provide measurable value.

n • Build guarded workflows that generate candidate tests from requirements, user journeys, code changes, and production defects.

n • Apply AI to exploratory scenario creation, test-data generation, anomaly detection, and failure triage where appropriate.

n • Keep deterministic tests and verified evidence as the source of truth for release decisions.

n • Create a feedback loop in which validated defects become regression tests and improve the AI testing prompts, evaluations, and reference datasets.

n • Document the framework and train the continuing QA owner to operate and extend it.

n EXPECTED OUTCOMES IN 2-3 MONTHS

n • A QA audit and prioritized product-risk register.

n • A coverage map for business-critical workflows.

n • Repeatable smoke and regression suites.

n • Automated API and integration coverage for high-risk workflows.

n • CI/CD quality gates with actionable logs, screenshots, and reports.

n • An AI-assisted testing layer for high-value test generation, exploration, test-data creation, and failure triage.

n • Evaluation benchmarks, confidence thresholds, audit trails, and human-review rules for AI-generated tests and recommendations.

n • Documented defect-triage, release-readiness, flaky-test, and handover processes.

n REQUIRED EXPERIENCE





n • Strong experience testing production web applications; mobile-app testing experience is valuable.

n • Experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks.

n • Proficiency with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or an equivalent framework.

n • Experience testing APIs and integrations.

n • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

n • Practical experience using LLM APIs, AI agents, or AI-enabled testing tools for test creation, execution, exploration, or failure analysis.

n • Ability to evaluate AI-generated tests for correctness, coverage, duplication, false positives, and maintainability.

n • Programming or scripting ability in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java, or a similar language.

n • Strong debugging, documentation, communication, and product-thinking skills.

n NICE TO HAVE

n • Mobile automation experience with Appium, Maestro, Detox, or a similar tool.

n • Experience with visual regression, accessibility, performance, security, or load testing.

n • Experience with coding agents, prompt/evaluation workflows, synthetic test data, or agent-driven browser testing.

n • Experience establishing QA practices in an early-stage or quick-moving organization.
